I have been trying for the last 6 hours to access ICICI PayPal alternative, PaySeal (203.27.235.72). Unfortunately the site is unreachable from India as well as USA. Even the server cannot be pinged.

PayPal provides an API to automate transaction processing. This is great for businesses selling electronic products. Automated transaction processing speeds up order processing and is somewhat expected from a large section of internet savvy buyers. However it has some caveats as we found yesterday.

We are tweaking our postfix servers to offer maximum spam protection upfront with helo checks, header checks, blacklist checks, RBL's and more. So far my daily spam count has dropped from about 3000-7000 spams / day to about 15-35 spams per day. It should drop even more as I added more RBL to my list (see below for updates).

When Google Checkout came out I was very excited to have a viable alternative to PayPal from a reputed company despite its limitation to US only market. Since its launch I have heard several complaints from my readers, with zero positive experiences.

PayPal support page isn't visible even for logged in users. Any email to support@paypal.com is automatically bounced. The support page is a hidden page in PayPal (nice way to ensure good customer support, isn't it?).
