Google Proxy Hacking - How Your Page Rank Can Be Stolen & Pages Removed from SERP

I recently came across an instance of Google Proxy hacking with one of my clients, which removed his index page and other pages from SERP (Search Engine Ranking & Positioning) and he lost the page ranks (went down to zero). We were asked to protect his site against Google Proxy hacking, a really dangerous technique which can not only cause you to loose page rank but also remove your pages from SERP, all because Google cannot properly identify original pages from duplicates.

Is SplogSplot (Splog Detection Site) Dead?… I Hope Not

SplogSpot is service that keeps track of spam blogs or Splogs. The splogspot spam database can be queried by using the SplogSpot API. A nice idea. Is the service appears to be dead since March 2007?

How Google Product / API Pages Can be Spammed

Google dutifully provides a forum for each product / API they launch. They also graciously decided to display 3 recent articles from their forum on their highly ranked product page. It appears that the forums are not actively monitored by Google staff as they are already being abused for spamming. Here is an example (click on image to view full size):

Beware GMail Goofs Up On Spam Protection

GMail has apparently gone bonkers with its vaunted spam protection feature or maybe spammers have finally managed to successfully corrupt its (naive bayesian?) filters. GMail is generating tons of false positives (valid emails being marked as spam) with no hope in the horizon so far. You need to be very careful with using GMail.
