Overview نظرة عامة
Displays an advertisement (which is randomly selected from a group of advertisements specified in a text file) at your chosen location. يتم عرض دعايه (والتي يتم اختيارها اختيارا عشوائيا من مجموعة من الاعلانات المحددة في ملف نصي) في الموقع الذي تختاره. Tested on WordPress 1.5 & 2.x. جرب على 1،5 WordPress & 2.x. Should work with earlier and later versions (future and past proofed). وينبغي ان تعمل في وقت سابق مع والاصدارات الاحدث (تثبيتهم في الماضي والمستقبل). It can also be used with other CMS systems or anywhere where PHP is supported. ويمكن استخدامها ايضا مع غيرها من نظم اتفاقيه الانواع المهاجره او في اي مكان حيث بي. اتش. بى الدعم.

Requirements المتطلبات
AdRotator was created with few simple requirements. ادروتاتور انشئت مع الاحتياجات البسيطة.
- It should allow rotating (randomly) between any number of advertisements (or other code or images etc.) وينبغي ان تسمح بالتناوب (عشوائي) بين أي عدد من الاعلانات) او غيرها من الرموز او الصور وما الى ذلك)
- It should be efficient. وينبغي ان تكون فعالة.
- It should be simple to use. وينبغي ان تكون سهلة الاستعمال.
- It should be simple to install. وينبغي ان تكون سهلة التركيب.
- It should be simple to uninstall. وينبغي ان تكون بسيطة الى الغاء التثبيت.
Usage الاستعمال
This can be used to distribute your Ads impressions between various providers and to provide variety to users. ويمكن استخدام هذا الامر لتوزيع اعلاناتك الظهور بين مختلف مقدمي الخدمات وتوفير متنوعة للمستخدمين.
It can also be used to randomly include any other code or even to randomly display images, text messages etc. The usage is limited by your imagination only. ويمكن استخدامها ايضا لتشمل بشكل عشوائي أي شفره أخرى أو حتى لعرض الصور بشكل عشوائي ، وما الى الرسائل النصيه استخدام محدود في بلدكم الخيال فقط. You can also use it to يمكنك ايضا استخدامها ل display rotating advertisement within your posts or pages عرض الاعلان في اطار التناوب رسائلك او الصفحات .
The code can be used with non-WordPress systems too. هذا القانون يمكن ان تستخدم مع المنظمات غير WordPress نظم ايضا.

Is this rotator supposed to exchange ads continuously while viewing the same page or is does it Only changes ads as you change pages on the blog? ومن المفترض أن هذا الدوار لتبادل الاعلانات باستمرار بينما عرض في الصفحه نفسها أو التغييرات الا انها لا تقوم بتغيير من الاعلانات على صفحات بلوق؟ I installed it and if I go to different category pages, it does change the ad with each new page viewed. انا ركبت واذا ذهبت الى صفحة فئة مختلفة ، فإنه تغيير الاعلانيه مع كل صفحة جديدة ينظر اليها. It changes ad with each viewing of each page. ومن التغييرات الاعلانيه مع كل من مشاهدة كل صفحة. You can reload the page to test it. يمكنك اعادة تحميل الصفحه لاختباره.

No. AFAIK it is not recommended by Google and many Ad providers as it leads to artificial increase in page impressions. رقم afaik انها ليست صور والذي اوصت به العديد من مقدمي الخدمات الاعلانيه لانه يؤدي الى زيادة مصطنعة في صفحة. Check the TOS before you go that route. التحقق من tos قبل ان تذهب الطريق.

My best suggestion: create and post an example banners.txt file, with example ad code in it. اطيب اقتراح : انشاء وظيفة وعلى سبيل المثال banners.txt الملف ، مثلا في شفره الاعلان.
My personal request is that you DON’T force us to identically sized banners. طلب تقديري الشخصي هو ان كنت لا يرغمنا على ان الحجم بصورة مطابقه لافتات.
Any help would be greatly GREATLY appreciated, اي ان من شأنه ان يساعد الى حد كبير تقدير كبير ،

Your advertisers like Google / Chitika etc. gives your certain text to insert in your webpage / template. المعلنين مثل غوغل الخاص بك / chitika وما يعطي الخاص بك معينة تضاف الى النص في صفحة الويب الخاصة بك / القالب. That is commonly referred to as ad code. وهذا هو ويشار الى شفره الاعلان.

It depends on your advertiser. انها تعتمد على المعلن الخاص بك. See the example below for my advertisers code. انظر المثال التالي لقانون بلدي المعلنين.

I don’t. انا لا. You can have any number of banners of any sizes; all different even. يمكن ان يكون لديك اي عدد من لافتات كتب عليها من اي احجام ؛ مختلفة حتى جميع.
Not only that you can use them in as many locations as you want; you can also have certain ads display with more frequency than others etc. ولم يقتصر الأمر على ذلك يمكنك استخدامها في العديد من المواقع على النحو الذي تريده ، تستطيع ايضا بعض الاعلانات التي تظهر مع تواتر اكثر من غيرها الخ

I have been trying to use your rotator script rotating AddSense and other text advertising but AddSense just would not show. وقد حاولت استخدام مساعيكم الدوار بالتناوب addsense سكريبت وغيرها من نص الاعلان addsense فقط ولكن لن يتم عرض. I have converted the add code to one liner but it does not come up. لقد حولت اضافة الى قانون واحد على خطوط ملاحية منتظمة ولكن لا يأتي. Other lines do show up but not the ASense line. الخطوط الاخرى لا تظهر ولكنها لا asense الخط.
Can you tell me if it does work with AddSense in general or is their code incompatible with this script? هل يمكن ان تخبرني اذا فعلت ذلك في addsense مع العمل العام او هو قانون يتعارض مع هذا السيناريو؟
I do not want to cut the code in two parts as you mention in the User mannual, but rather keep it all in the txt file. انا لا اريد ان قطع المدونه في جزاين كما ذكرتم في mannual المستخدم ، وانما احتفظ بكل شيء في نص الملف.

I got the plugin to work correctly. انا حصلت على البرنامج المساعد للعمل بشكل صحيح. You may just need to add it to one file in your template. يمكنك أن تحتاج فقط الى اضافتها الى ملف واحد في القالب. It depends on where you want to show the ad. الامر يتوقف على اين تريد ان تظهر الاعلانيه. For example if you want to show it in sidebar then add it to sidebar.php. فعلى سبيل المثال اذا كنت تريد ان تظهر في الشريط الجانبي ومن ثم اضافتها الى sidebar.php.
If on the main page then add it to index.php etc. اذا كان على الصفحه الرئيسية ثم اضافتها الى index.php الخ.
Hope you get the idea. كنت آمل في الحصول على فكره.

I still hope you go to details for “Page”,not for “post” in categories. كنت وما زلت آمل في العودة الى التفاصيل ل"الصفحه" ، وليس لفترة "ما بعد" في فئات.
Because I did not find index.php related with “page”,and I have created severl “pages”,maybe I need to add ads in the middle of specific page. لأنني لم يجد index.php ذات الصلة مع "الصفحه" ، وانا قد خلقت severl "صفحات" ، وربما انا بحاجة الى اضافة الاعلانات في منتصف الصفحه المحددة.

You are misunderstanding. أنت وسوء الفهم. Displaying of pages is determined by the template pages in your theme. عرض الصفحات ويحدد النموذج الخاص بك في صفحة الموضوع.
You have to make changes there. عليك ان تجري تغييرات هناك. Please check the files in your theme and WordPress documentation in codex to understand how it works. يرجى التحقق من الملفات الخاصة بك في موضوع WordPress والوثائق في هيئة الدستور الغذائي لفهم كيف يعمل.
You don’t have to worry about cache for making any changes. وليس عليك ان تقلق على مخبأ لاجراء اي تغييرات.

I’m on a mAC using text edit saving it a .txt. انا على تحرير نص باستخدام لجنة الهدنه العسكرية لانقاذ عليها. نص.

I have two ads listed on the text file. لقد اثنين من الاعلانات الواردة على نص الملف. So there are only two images. حتى لا يوجد سوى اثنين من الصور. the images have wierd charcters next to them and sometimes when teh page refreshes there is no image and just a long line of gobbledygook text characters.. وقد صور غريب charcters المقبل لها في بعض الأحيان وعندما تجدد الصفحه لا يوجد اي صورة ومجرد سلسلة طويلة من gobbledygook النص حرفا.. any idea how to correct this? اي فكرة كيفية تصحيح هذا؟

Great plugin. البرنامج المساعد كبيرة. I’m experiencing some difficulty though. أنا التي تعاني بالرغم من بعض الصعوبات.
I’m trying to use it to rotate a series of Amazon Associate links that use the tag. أحاول استخدامها لتناوب سلسلة من المنتسبين في منطقة الامازون التي تستخدم وصلات البطاقه.
I’m using WP 2.2 w/ the default them w/ widgets enabled. أنا باستخدام رزمه العمل 2،2 ث / الافتراضي لها وزن / مكن الحاجيات. I tried putting the php call inside a text widget in the Sidebar–no effect. حاولت طرح بي. اتش. بى الكلمه داخل النص القطعه في الشريط الجانبي - أي تأثير. I got it to work a bit but the variables inside the link cut off the rest of the widgets that were below it in the sidebar. وصلت الى العمل قليلا لكن المتغيرات داخل ربط قطع ما تبقى من الحاجيات التي كانت تحتها في الشريط الجانبي.
So then I put the php call in the bottom of the Sidebar.php theme page, just before the final tag. حتى ذلك الحين انني اضع بي. اتش. بى الكلمه في الجزء السفلي من صفحة موضوع sidebar.php ، قبل لحظات من العلامه النهائية. I downloaded, installed, and set up AdRotator today. الأول تحميل ، تركيب ، وانشاء ادروتاتور اليوم. I use it to display random ads on a local Web site, استخدمه لعرض الاعلانات العشواءيه المحلية على شبكة الانترنت ، wickenburg-az.com Wickenburg - az.com . It does the job nicely, although I did have some trouble piecing together the instructions I needed. هل هو عمل جيد ، على الرغم من أنني له بعض المتاعب التفكيك الى جانب التعليمات اللازمة الاول. If I remove the script line the urls show up but are not formatted. اذا كنت ازالة سكريبت خط عناوين المواقع تظهر ولكنها ليست بالشكل.
Also, how do I get the correct tags for the google ads I want. ايضا ، كيف أحصل على العلامات الصحيحه لصور الاعلانات التي اريدها. They are hidden in other sites. انها مخفيه في مواقع اخرى.

I just wanted to let you know that I resolved this. اردت فقط ان تعلموا ان تحل لي هذا. I turned off my Nortons internet security for spyware and adware and voila wouldn’t you know it appeared! والتفت من بلادي nortons امن الانترنت للتجسس وبرامج التجسس وفويلا لا تعلمون انه يبدو! I read the blog, comments and manual. قرأت بلوق والتعليقات والدليل. put it up, turned it on and it worked first time! وضع عنه ، على رفض الإقتراح وعملت أول مرة! This was a breeze to put together and I am a code novice. وكان هذا نسيم معا لوضع وانا مدونة المبتدئ. Of course I have a question. وبطبيعة الحال لدى سؤال. I have five banner ads on my site that I need to rotate through so that the top most ad is random. عندي خمسة رأيه اعلانات على موقعي انني بحاجة الى تدوير من خلال ذلك ان معظم كبار الاعلان العشواءيه. I can load your “code call” five times, but sometimes that ends up with two duplicate ads showing at the same time. People come to my site 2 or three times a week — I want to sell the fact that there ad is always “up” and that the order of ads is random.
Is this possible?

Great plugin, downloaded and installed it easily on a number of websites.
As all my sites also run wp-cache it does act differently then usual.
In my case the banner is cached for the time wp-cache is caching a particular page (with standard wp-cache settings that is 3600 seconds). No problem there - each page loads a different banner and the banners change on reload *after* the cache is reset.

Hi - I downloaded your adrotator script to my WP (v2.0.4) blog and I cannot get it to display. I’ve tried it in the header and footer templates, I’ve read thru the manual, looked thru WordPress forums for help and I can’t see what’s wrong. The txt file is created & fine, saved under /wp-content with simple banners and their links one per line, the formatting of the div section is fine as I’ve tested that with independent ads. The script is activated in the plugin area, the insertion script is copied directly from your manual with the appropriate file name. But nothing shows and when you view the source of the page, there is no code showing up for your script. The div tag (topads) it sits in is empty. Any ideas on what’s happening here? I’d really like to make use of this script as it sounds perfect for what I’m needing.

OK, sorted it. I think it’s absolutely essential that you make sure everyone understand that you need to use flat text quote marks and not styled quote marks from word-processor type documents which I suspect you have in your example code somewhere that I copied. You are right. WordPress replaces simple single quotes with styled quote marks which creates problems for anyone doing simple cut-paste from the blog. I have replaced them with double quotes which should work fine with cut-paste.

i think i have an idea why the google adsense ads don’t show at first even after correct installation. google self says that it takes up to 48 hours before the search robots have scanned your page and by this action enabling AdSense to work. no search robot, no adsense ads. it might be as easy as that. after an afternoon of searching the error, i now will fix myself a cup of tea and wait to see if i’m right

Just wondering if anyone could tell me which file to add the “” to if you want your ads to be displayed after each post? There are many editable files within Wordpress. Which one do you edit and where in that file do you add to show up after each post?
I tried adding it to the “Main Index” file which is very short. It did work if I added this after the footer info, but if I tried to place it after the post info, it messed up the whole site.
Any help would be great!

Add it just above the comments section. You can also do it through a plugin. I have one such (unreleased) plugin which does the same for my other blogs like the stem cell research blog .

your plugin sounds great !
I am not actually interested to display ads (since the traffic to my website is quite low), but I would be interested to rotate my welcoming banner in the header..
Do you think this would be possible with your plugin ? Would I need to change sthg in your directions ?

I have a question. I’m currently using your ad rotator plugin for two types of ads. One is to rotate a series of leaderboard ads at the bottom of my website, and the other is for skyscraper ads at my sidebar.
I’ve noticed that when I refresh, sometimes one or both of the ads are missing. They just don’t show up. I’m wondering if there’sa minimum number of ads that need to be in the rotation, or else they get skipped over sometimes. I have about 4 or 5 for each ad type.
I’m also wondering if maybe it’s because ad rotator can’t handle certain ads, such as those with Flash or use javascript.
I hope I’ve just overlooked something and it can be fixed right away. Thanks very much.

We are using Adrotator to rotate ads on our website. Everything is working as expected in IE but the ads don’t rotate in Firefox. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been using this tool to great success on http://www.thestonewailer.com for two months.
I use it for ads, but also I use it to rotate in cd reviews, indie musician gig dates, and relevant info related to the site.
What I’m wondering is: is there a way to change the top part of my sidebar, where it talks about Gonzo journalism, to rotate with a mission statement, or other content that I would like to randomly load at the top of the sidebar with each refresh?

The problem I have is that I use Instant Upgrade, that updates WP to the latest version of WP, but do not let you change the files afterwards (apart from the template).
Also, WP 2.2 modifies wp-rss2.php’s structure, so previous mods do not work.
Is there anyway that adrotator could be added to the feeds without editing the wp-rss2.php file ?

Instant Upgrade works great in the blog itself, but if you modify the rss feed files to include it, you have to edit them manually.
And once you use Instant Upgrade, those files (feed-rss2.php in WP 2.2) have apache as the owner. That means that in order to edit them, you have to manually change the owner (chown) to yourself, edit them, and change it again to apache for next time you use Instant Upgrade ….

Not really …. instant upgrade is doing all in the right way …. Adrotator should have an option to be included in the feed without changing the feed php file ….
I know that is possible, “Buy me a beer”, “Socialize” and others do it. They get included in the content of the post and automatically get added to the feed.
Unfortunately I am not able to do it myself …
And don’t get me wrong, I love your plugin, that’s why today I went thru the pain of changing owners and all for another blog …. I rather do all of it that not using it ….
But I am trying to save me some time here ….

Great plug-in! One quick question: For some reason when I link my ads, it is adding my domain in front of the target domain.
So instead of the link being:
http://www.targetdomain.com
I am getting this:
http://www.mydomain.comhttp://www.targetdomain.com

I do agree this is a cool plugin but I personally dont recommend people who are new into affiliate marketing to use this.
Reason: You will be disappointed if you spread your gains(profit) into many places. Focus on one. Why not rotate different ads of the same merchant to give you max. impact on sales.

rather I want half a dozen or 8 ads to all dispaly but be in a different order upon each page loading.

Hi. I like the idea of this plugin, but what I really need is something like a “gallery” of ads (images w/links) that displays in the sidebar based on category. So, for Category AI might have 5 ad images, for Category BI might have 3 ad images, and so on. For pages/posts without categories, or if there is no gallery for a category, I would like a standard Adsense skyscraper. Can this plugin be hacked to accomplish this? Thanks! شكرا!

Thanks so much for creating this! It works like a charm for the most part, but as several users above have mentioned, it has a minor flaw in that it skips banner loads.
Normally this wouldn’t matter that much, but in my case when it does skip load and leaves a blank space, it screws up the formatting of the header navigation.
Is there any way to keep it from skipping banner loads and leaving a blank space?

First, thank you very much for providing this plugin. It’s really very handy, not just for ads, but also for displaying random images with links.
I am however, having a problem getting it to display in a sidebar. The sidebar is widget enabled and I’m trying to “sneak” in the call to the file via a textbox widget with a header over it. I’m assuming this is not possible?

Great plugin! I have it all set up and working, and I have a quick question. Here’s how my .txt file is set up:
I have 32 lines of code (32 ads). Some of them are duplicates, depending on how much the company has paid. Example: someone who has paid the minimum has one ad in rotation and the number of ads in the rotation increases the more they paid.
My assumption was that the plugin would go through each line in the .txt file (even if in random order) before going through it again. If line 12 was hit, it wouldn’t pull it up again before hitting every other line of code. That doesn’t seem to be the case.
To test, I refreshed the page 58 times. Many ads were displayed more times than shown in the code, and two ads never showed up at all.
The ads that didn’t show up are uploaded and referenced correctly, and there wasn’ta time when nothing was displayed, so it’s not that it’s just not seeing those ads, it’s more like it just never gets to those ads.
Is this the way the plugin is supposed to work?
Again, I love how simple the plugin was to setup, thanks for making it! And thanks for any help!

No. The plugin displays the ads randomly. So while in a small sample size not all ads will show up in your specified frequency, for large sample size (number of hits) the ads will show up in the frequency you have specified. Remember that each line of ad has an equal probability to show up. So to show up an ad more often, specify it more times.

How can I get this to work INSIDE (inline) the body of a Post? (not in the template).

I created one advertisement file.?But it’s not working properly.Only alternate text is displaying while running program.NavigateUrl and ImageUrl are not working.Image is not displaying and when i click on the adrotator it showing sever error 400-Bad request.the same programm when i execting in other web application it’s working.Please help me

This should work with .php extension if I edit your plugins file and change the extension to .php in your code right? If it has a php extension, I can change the path and have the sponsors.php in my theme’s directory, then be able to edit it in wordpress without using an FTP software. All I have to do is modify your code to get it from the template’s path and change txt to php. create a php file with my ads to be rotated in it, and upload it to my current themes folder. then in wordpress’s edit theme section, I could just modify the banners to be rotated… seems like it would work, gonna give it a shot

I can’t make it work…. I installed and activated the plugin, I changed the name of the file to search for in the rotator.php to ‘ad’, I uploaded the ad.txt to the wp-content directory and I added the line of code to the place where I want the ad with the ‘ad’ name too! Hi i have read and re read the instruction and upgraded to wordpress 2.5 - I have installed the plugin and activated - Uploaded my txt file with the ads in and put the following line into my header file
obviously changing the name and i get the following message :-

getad() should be called in your template and not from the ad file itself. The ad file is just plain html.

I’m still hoping and praying someone will post a hack or update that allows more than 9 Ad Rotator widgets. I can’t think of a reason why it would be limited to 9 and I could use a hundred of them.
Any ideas or hacks anyone?

Hi, I like your plugin very much. The problem I have is that I don´t want the ads to repeat. For example, I have added 3 times the code to my sidebar to display 3 ads. I then added 5 ads to my ads.txt. I would like to see a random selection of 3 ads without repetitions but sometimes I get the same ad twice or even three times. Is there any way to avoid this?
