Update:
I am delighted to announce the release of Angsuman’s Translator Plugin Pro for WordPress 2.x blogs. It provides automatic machine translation of your blog in eight different languages - German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. If you liked my previous translator plugin then you are going to love it. It is search engine optimized, supports WordPress widgets, uses nice permalinks, super-fast (cacheable) and lots more.

- Blocking misuse by external sites.
- Better accuracy in translation and retaining page structure.
- Nice url’s, one permalink per language.
- Single file to upload. No more uploading of images.
- Ability to use as WordPress widget.
- Ability to exclude sections from being translated.
- Quicker download time (it was already very quick).
- Tons of Configurability
What is not supported yet:
Support for non-english language blogs. Sorry guys. We will support it in the next release. I promise the future releases will be much much quicker.

Awesome. Please ingore my last post on the main product page - I hadn’t seen this post yet…I guess you just put it up.
Any time estimation? Days? Weeks? Months?

This weekend by best estimate. We are working on the nice url part and will finish it off by widegtizing it and cleaning it up. As I am not directly working on it (except for guidance) it may take 3-4 days more than anticipated.

Great plugin! I added the Beta version of the Arabic translation in and it seems to work fine with that as well (code ar).
One problem has come up. The Spanish and Portugese flags do not show up in IE when the plugin is activated, and the space where they should be is not clickable. Have you run into that before, and is there something obvious that I’m overlooking?
Thanks again for a very useful plugin.

Never mind the previous post — I found an indiotic html error that fixed the problem. *gr*
The only problem that I’m having now is that the German translation breaks the Tag cloud I have in one of my sidebars. None of the others do, and I’m not sure why German does it or if there is a fix for it.
However, that’s a minor problem all things considered. Thanks again for a great plugin. Looking forward to the next version — and do add in the arabic if you get the chance. Even in Beta it seems to be working about as well as a machine translation will.

We have crossed the final hurdle. All is left is some polishing and packaging up.
I have tested it on IE as well as Safari. I have never found any problems with Spanish or Portuguese flags. Can you please re-download and try again? Maybe the files got corrupted?

Problem fixed. It was a minor error that was my fault when I added in the Arabic. It is up and working perfectly now.

Is there a revised estimated release date?

You can find it in action on http://test.taragana.net
We hit against some strange url redirection problems and are working to give it finishing touches. Pratima is actually handling the code. She expects to release it by this weekend.

All known defects have been fixed. Please test it rigorously and let me know.

Can’t wait, can’t wait!!

Thanks Eric.
We are done with the coding and internal testing.
You can check it out here.
I am getting slightly delayed as I am in the middle of choosing a dedicated server and moving over my blogs.
