Enabled it on your site

I personally believe that anyone who goes out of their way to partake in the discussion on your site, or any other site, should indeed be able to link there. Especially if they return a link via a bookmark or url on their page.

I would agree not following links defeats the idea of a free Internet. Google hepped creat link spam by implementing their version of pagerank. Now because of link spam geared to pagerank, we are seeing no-follow tags. I really think now with search and the monetization of search and ads that we are seeing \”the tail wagging the dog\” here.

The official claim is that links with the rel=nofollow attribute do not influence the search engine rankings of the target page. In addition to Google, Yahoo and MSN also support the rel=nofollow attribute.

This means that the search engines wouldn’t follow the URL’s listed and hence a commenter wouldn’t get the benefit of commenting on this site by way of increasing their (websites) search engine rank (like Google rank). This is supposed to act as disincentive to comment spammers.

Uninstallation

1. Log in to WordPress
2. Click Plugins from the main menu
3. Scroll to find the name of the plugin - Follow URL, and click Deactivate

Good work. I really like it!
