Why Did I Create Simple Thoughts Blog?

Hello, im 21 looking to build a website for the first time. I've been looking into adsense and have been interested for a while. I was wondering if you built your website for that sole reason? to make money from adsense? because I think maybe thats the reason I want to build one. Also what program did you use to create a site like this?

No. I built it out of love. I wanted to share tech tips with my friends and the world and to jot down things as I learn them so I know where to refer to later. My blog is my online notebook of technical tips and any idea which caches my fancy. My first blog was in 2001. AdSense came later, much later. All it probably did was add slightly more regularity to my updates. If you are looking to create a blog only for AdSense them you will end up with making splogs or worse. Do it for a good reason, something which is sutainable. At this point I am probably a semi-pro blogger, some of whose income is from advertisement.

I used WordPress to create the current blog. My previous blog was on blogger.com. Currently I maintain only this blog.

I would really love to know why popular bloggers have created their blogs in the first place.

Simple Thoughts Upgraded To WordPress 2.0.7

January 18th, 2007 I finally took the plunge and upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.0.7, the latest sparkling version of WordPress (till 2.1 comes out later this month). I am happy to say that the upgrade was uneventful for once and things looked fine after sanity checks.

New Search for Simple Thoughts

February 23rd, 2008 Simple Thoughts blog now boasts a new and improved search facility, thanks to Google customized search. Now you can get the search results on our site with our look and feel, without having to go to Google.

Simple Thoughts updated to WordPress 2.7.1

February 22nd, 2009 We just updated Simple Thoughts blog to the latest version of WordPress software. So far everything looks good.

I created my blog as a way to remember new things I learned every day. (otherwise I tend to forget) When you write about something daily, you are forced to learn and this is also a good career move. When I started, I referred to ’simple thoughts’ as a good model and it is currently the only link on my ‘blogroll’.
