What is your favorite Open Source Database

For Linux users out there, they’d probably suggest MySQL, however I’m a big fan of MS SQL Server. They’re both based on the SQL-92 standard with a bunch of additional features added. Transact SQL is a reasonably easy instruction language to learn and with the introduction of the Management Studio Interface, 2008 Express Edition of SQL Server is easy to install and easy to play with (since for the most part, that’s the best way to learn Software).Really a nice post.

There are two other open source databases that should be included are much more stable an production ready that several of the ones listed:
Sqlite
Ingres

For me, it’s MonetDB/SQL.
INGRES is a runner up.

SQLITE is also good database for small systems .
