Everyone today is talking about Web 2.0. ��ε� ������ �� 2.0�� ���� �̾߱��մϴ�. In the post-dotcom era several concepts were re-defined, old ideas re-emerged with new variations. ����Ʈ - ���� �ô��� ��� ������ �ٽ� - ����, ������ ���̵� �ٽ� - ������ ���ο� �����մϴ�. Does that make it Web 2.0 or is it yet another faux-meme and marketing hype? �ƴϸ� �̰��� �� 2.0�� ����� �� �� �ٸ� ��¥ - �� �� ������ ���� �ߵ�? Let's explore�� Ž�����ڡ�

O'Reilly roughly defines Web 2.0 with the following transformations: �� 2.0 ���� ���� �� �뷫 ������ ���� ���� :

We can disagree with some of these items. �̷��� �׸� �� �Ϻ� �츮�� �������� ���� ���ֽ��ϴ�. For example I don't think tagging is really a replacement for taxonomy (directories). ���� ��� ���� ������ �ʾƿ� �±� ����� ��ü�ϱ����� ���� �з��� (���͸�). Tagging is yet another hype, soon to be replaced. �±� ����� ���� �� �ٸ� �ߵ�, �� ��ü�մϴ�. Search coupled with tagging may however be a value-added replacement of directory systems. �±׿� �Բ� �˻��� ���� ���ֽ��ϴ� - �߰� ��ü�� ���丮 �׷��� �ý����մϴ�.

However by and large I too agree that a transformation is indeed taking shape. �׷��� ��������� ��ȯ�� ������ ���� ���Ǹ� ���� ���� �����մϴ�. Web companies are becoming more matured with time as market realities becomes clearly defined. �� ������� ���� �� ������ ����� �ð��� ��Ȯ�ϰ� ���ǵ� �����̵ȴ�. It is moving towards the age of services. �װ��� �ô��� ���������� �̵��մϴ�. And Web is steadily and surely moving towards replacing the desktop as a service provider platform. �׸��� ���� �ݵ�� �����ǰ� ���� ��� ��ü�� ���Ͽ� �����̰� �÷��� ����ũ���� ��ü�մϴ�. Operating System providers like Microsoft and Linux are becoming less relevant. ����ũ�� ����Ʈ�� ������ ���� � ü���� ����ǰ� ��ü��� �����մϴ�.

I disagree with the meme-map on several points. ���� �� -������ ���� ������ ���� ���������մϴ�. It is surely a work in progress. �۾� �������� ���� Ȯ���մϴ�. However some of the items stand out as uncannily accurate like the long-tail, perpetual beta etc. �׷��� ���� ��� �׸� �� �Ϻθ� ��Ȯ�ϰ� ���� ������ �� - ����, ������ ��Ÿ ���� ��

Overall today software services are much more consumer-centric than ever before. ������ ������� ����Ʈ���� ���񽺰� �ξ� �� ���� �Һ� - �߽� ���� �ٵ��մϴ�. You trust the user, perpetually improve the product and work closley with your customers to achieve success. �� �ŷ��� ���ִ� �����, ���Ӿ��� �����ϴ� ��ǰ �� �?�� closley ��ǰ�� ������ �޼��մϴ�. Blogging has supplemented traditional customer relationship management. ��α��� ���� �������� �? ��� �� �����մϴ�. Common users has much greater say in shaping today's software and services. �Ϲ����� ����ڰ� �ξ� �� ���� ���ó��� ����Ʈ����� ���񽺸� ���մϴ�.

Most of these changes were gradual and now some of them are firmly re-defining the existing way of doing business. ��κ��� �̷��� ���� ������ ������ �׸��� ���� �׵� �� �Ϻδ� ������ ����� Ȯ���ϰ� �ٽ� ��� -�� �����մϴ�. Does that make a Web 2.0? �װ� ������ �� 2.0? I think the changes define not just the internet but the entire software industry. �� �� �� ���� ������ ���������� ��ü ����Ʈ���� ����Ӹ� �ƴ϶� ���ͳ����մϴ�. I would rather call these changes collectively as Software Industry 2.0 . �̷��� ���� ���� ���� ��Ī���� ����Ʈ���� ��� 2.0�� ȣ���մϴ�.
