We are writing you to announce that MK-7 studios has recently released Date Smart, an iPhone application which helps people find fun and interesting dating ideas. The application has been released just in time for Valentine’s day, and was created to put some unique twists on the idea and fact generating category of iPhone applications. We have sent you this message in the interest of having your staff take a look at the application and potentially put it up for review or promotion on Engadget. As Valentine’s day is quickly approaching, we feel that Date Smart would not only be great for stand-alone review, but also be a great addition to any article focussing on Valentine or Romance/Dating applications.
We’re pretty excited with what Date Smart brings to its category, as it provides a lot of rather unique UI that tends to be found more commonly in iPhone games than in lifestyle applications. The interface includes four different themes, animated buttons, an animated tutorial, custom sounds, and accelerometer and vibration support. The concept of our application is simple, and as such we strived to design Date Smart’s interface with simplicity in mind, while not sacrificing style or functionality. We wanted to provide not only great content with the date ideas and corresponding links, but also make it fun to use the app. The main flow of Date Smart begins with the user choosing the date type, category, and cost, and then pushing a button or shaking the phone to generate a random date idea that meets the criteria they’ve selected. The user then sees the date idea appear on the screen, and are able to go to a link which either has a custom maps or site search for their current GPS location,or a site with more information about the date.

These apps are good ones. I’d also recommend a new one called StickerJam Valentine. It lets you build your own Valentines from stickers…pretty fun!
