Unmanaged Dedicated Web Hosting Provider - My Choice
I have been looking for a unmanaged dedicated web hosting provider for the last 7 days or so. I performed sucks tests (search in Google for "xyz sucks"), went to web hosting forums, asked questions to the provider, analyzed their plans with a fine tooth comb. Finally I have settled upon two alternatives, depending on your budget.
LayeredTech - Low Cost unmanaged dedicated web hosting
Pros: Low cost, good reputation, responsive sales & service, 24×7 support
Cons: Lacks remote reboot, no IRC
SoftLayer - Competitively priced unmanaged dedicated web hosting
Pros: Better hardware, good reputation, fair price, remote reboot & serial console, Red Hat Enterprise Server or Microsoft Windows Server, Network Intrusion Detection System, DOS protection and more
Cons: Pricier than LayeredTech
Overall SoftLayer is better from my meta-review. LayeredTech is very good value for price. Guess what I have chosen ![]()

Already I am starting to feel the pinch with their slow deployment time (not that I was not aware that it could happen).
