Akismet Overloaded (Down?) & Slowing Blog...August 26th, 2007 I got over 2000 comments in my moderation queue, all spam. I was testing Akismet and it appears it is overloaded for quite sometime now and putting literally every comment in moderation queue (happens when it fails or when the connectivity to Akismet fails).
