TV: Animax - What I enjoy watching: Newbie guide to Animax
Update: We created the Animax Forum for Animax lovers like you and me. It is your forum to discuss Animax animes (past and present) and other popular animes like Dragonball Z etc. Please post all your comments and thoughts there. You will find lots of other Animax lovers there.
I am closing the comments section of this post for further comments as it has grown too large and also it is hard for users to browse two places. Please use the animax forum; it is exactly for this purpose.
Congratulations to indian_otaku for being the first member.
Flipping through TV channels in Chennai, I realized that only channels I can understand (not in Tamil) are Animax, Pogo (for kids), Splash (for kids), SAB and Sahara.
Never being a watcher of soaps, my only decent alternative was Animax.
I realized I have started to like quite a few of their serials. Here is my list in the order of liking:
1. Samurai X - story of Battousai's life in post-slasher period and strength of conviction. Highly recommended. Very rich potrayal of characters, good storyline.
2. Get Backers - story of two friends who can get back almost anything. Again the characters are richly potrayed. May city gives me jitters.
3. Dan Detective School - story of a bunch of kids who learn being detectives. It is often stimulating for the mind to outguess the story teller.
4. Cyborg 009 - Story of 9 friends as cyborgs.
3. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - way too geeky even for me.
4. .Hack Sign - ok, all others are not watchable.
BTW: I happened to watch Wonder Woman on Pogo TV once briefly, flipping channel in horror, way too cheesy for my taste. Yuk!
Update: Please refer to the comments below for further information about your favorite Animax characters and feel free to leave your comment too.
PS. I hope Animax chooses better names for its serials. Some of the names are really lame.
Update: Mega XLR aired by Cartoon Network is mega-fun. Watch it. I am sure you will like it too.

I was interested tp leave a comment after reading ur blog. Seems that u like the shows on Animax. However, in Samurai X, the word u r referring to is Battousai, and not Batusai. If u want to know more about ur favorite shows, mail me.

Riju, please do not post your email in any public forums. There are many spammers out there looking out for such email addresses. I have moderated your comment to star the email address so it is not visible by anyone else.

I hope they move on with the new series. However it is still fun to watch sometimes (the rerun) though not as much.
I wish they show the Dragonball Z again anywhere. I just miss it.
June 1st, 2005 at 12:40 am
Animax, a channel made for Anime programs, does NOT air Dragonball..!!!! Even when Dragonball is one of the GREATEST Anime’s ever done, DBZ completed way back in 90’s and still the fanbase is going on strong with new games coming out as hits for gaming consoles, don’t know why a channel special for airing Animes won’t air DBZ
this is way screwy, bad job Animax.
If somehow, they start Dragonball, then start DBZ, then Db GT(all english funimation dubs), it’ll take a year to finish the whole series, and by that time, Animax will be very much giving Pogo and Cartoon network a hard time.
but it won’t happen -
And if any animax employee read this, take this advice, start Dragonball legacy and Naruto and Sonic in english, with full advertising, just wait and watch how AniMax makes news everywhere
June 1st, 2005 at 1:43 am
@Paramveer I agree. It is very surprising.
I look forward to a re-run of Dragonball series.
These people fail to realize how popular the series can be!
June 24th, 2005 at 2:56 am
hey when is dbz comming up in india?
June 24th, 2005 at 4:49 am
I don’t know. You should all badger CartoonNetwork.com which holds the right to DBZ series (DB, DBZ and DBGT) translation by Funimation.
June 25th, 2005 at 11:27 am
yeah but cartoon network won’t air the funimation dubs, but hindi dubs!! That’s i hate Cartoon Network, i wish they start airing of DBZ in India in english(FUNImation dubs), or animax should do it.
June 25th, 2005 at 11:29 am
And guess what guys, Animax section of Japan not only aires DBZ, but it also aires DB GT as well! Its only here in India they don’t.
June 25th, 2005 at 11:56 am
Hindi dubbing of Cartoon Network is really really bad. It destroys the fun out of watching Cartoon Network.
July 15th, 2005 at 3:43 am
I don’t know if anyone’ll read this… the last comment was posted a long time ago… but I felt I just HAD to comment.
Well, I’m from Mumbai and a huge fan of Animax… and they’ve already started to dub some Animes in Hindi over here… it’s so IRRITATING! Maybe it won’t be long before it reaches Chennai, methinks.
Anyway, I’m not a big fan of Samurai X, and I feel they should’ve shown Rurouni Kenshin first even though it came after X, but it’s alright. I love Inuyasha and Earth Girl Arjuna plus Wolf’s Rain.
July 16th, 2005 at 8:00 am
With over 2000 readers per day, I am sure people are reading this
Yes, I too hate dubbed versions. The English dub is a necessity, but beyond that…
And it looks too artificial. In our culture we don’t speak like they do in engl;ish or japanese.
Arjuna name is a rip-off from Arjun of Pandavas. She is also an archer. Obviously the concept is plagiarized. However it is decent.
July 16th, 2005 at 10:56 am
Well, I visited a couple of sites and it said Arjuna was “inspired” by Hindu Mythology… but I didn’t find any more information. Oh well, great animation at least. Looked like they spent quite a bit of money for a 13-episode anime.
And they tried to rectify that artificiality thing by dubbing it in “Hinglish”… I had to recoil when the sentence was uttered… I think it went like this: “Apne opponents ko undestimate nahi karna chahiye” or something… I mean, what was the point?
July 17th, 2005 at 11:13 am
i ma a gr8 fan of samurai x and an avid fan of dragonballz.i havent missed even 1 episode.its sad that animax doesnt start dragonballz nor does cartoon network.is there anythin we can do animax.lots of my frnds love dragonballz.so plzzzzzzzz try to start it.plz from me & my frnds we request animax 2 start it

Hm… those e-mails would come in pretty handy. I feel like ranting at them for not broadcasting more episodes of Inuyasha… and to either take off Card Captor Sakura or show the remaining part of it.
Also Dragonball is pretty long drawn out. I mean, I lost count of how many days that Goku was travelling on the clouds. I honestly didn’t know that you could drag out just plain running for such a long time… it was so frustrating, I had to give up. Besides, two-episode (or more) long battles are not for me. But to each his own, I guess.
August 4th, 2005 at 5:31 pm
Dubbing/Subtitling are important for culture transfer between countries.
I do agree that the quality of present dubs on TV is bad…but thats due to lot of other factors…viz pricing..overflow of work….incompetent actors…no linguist director etc etc..
Dubbing essentially makes the product more local.Infact educational channels like NGC/Discovery need to be dubbed to reach bigger audiences.
Just remember mostly it is for those people who dont understand English & cant relate to it with language/culture/background & other nuances.
Thanks,

Hi I am a Great FAN of SAMURAI X “RUROUNI KENSHIN”
Can any one here tell me how to get SAMURAI X TV Episode 22 Vol set in India. I didn’t find in PALIKA, New Delhi. Is there any place in Delhi where I can find the Full Episode Series.
Thanks in advance

I am a great fan of Samurai-X. Infact i stay up in the night till 12 P.M just to watch the show as i can not watch it at 8:30. Well…. i always have been a fan of samurai swords, the katanas, and also of kendo. When i saw how Kenshin uses a ‘reversed edge’ sword to protect people i was really happy. After seeing it on T.V , i even tried to buy a ‘reversed edge’ sword for myself, but then again… those darn things cost nearly $150. But every time i see Samurai-X, i feel as if i myself am using the sword.
My passion for kendo has been fueled because of this show. I would really like to join kendo classes. Please do not stop this show. Please.
August 16th, 2005 at 7:57 pm
WOW!
I too used to stay late 12:30 AM for Dragonball Z, a wonderful anime. Used to do some kamehameha too for power boost
BTW: You do realize that I do not control the airing of this show. The best place to ask for that would be cartoonnetwork.com

please……………………………….start showing these
please……………………………………..
i am just crazy of animax and its cartoons
you are the best. i wish youstart all which i requasted. my friend like ultre maniac.she said she wanted to see some new episodes of it. she is just crazy of this cartoon.
September 15th, 2005 at 11:55 am
I love action cartoons mainly cartoons like dragonballz, getbackers, inuyasha. i almost dream of dbz daily so if animax can start dbz then i would be the happiest person around
September 23rd, 2005 at 10:41 am
Yes. I will very much want to see DBZ on Animax .Cartoon netwok pulled it out midway.Damnit.Animax will get real popular if they can do it in India.
My favourite is Samurai X.I heard somewhere that it is a little different from Rurouni Kenshin.
Can anyone explain the details.
September 24th, 2005 at 1:46 am
AFAIK
Rurouni Kenshin is the same as Samurai X. However possibly (haven’t seen Rurouni Kenshin) Rurouni Kenshin ends with Kyoto saga after the death of Makoto Shishio. Shishio excels as a villain for whom you feel.
Personally I like the slower pace post-Kyoto even more.
September 24th, 2005 at 4:51 am
Animax should start DBZ in India.
September 27th, 2005 at 6:53 am
i read though this page and found that most of the people want to see DBZ in animax. But the thing is animax dont have the power to show the anime.
just like games and consoles r released in specific countries, in the same way movies and cartoon r also released in certain countries, like japan released a new 3D anime of Final Fantasy VII which is only available in japan.
so wat i m saying is, u have to tell the studio who made DBZ to release it in india.
DBZ is only available in japan, USA and France
and DBGT is available in japan and France not in USA.
I m from Bangladesh and i have freeza saga, Cell saga and BUU saga of Dragonball Z in my PC and also the last 5 episode of DBGT where Goku goes super saiyan 4 and super Gogita after fusion with Vegita.
if u want the episobes then u can email me and i will tell u how to get it free.
u also need broadbrand for it, dialup wont do.
so dont blame animax and cartoon network, if DBZ arrives in india then they will show it.
September 27th, 2005 at 7:27 am
did any1 see the cartoon movies of DBZ. i also have those.
any1 saw the movie cooler’s revenge of DBZ. Cooler is the big bro of freeza, who comes to earth to kill the saiyan who killed his bro.that 1 is the coolest movie of the DBZ cartoon. i also have cooler returs, where he comes to namek to destroy it and goku and vegita tries to stop his.
there is also a movie of Brolly the legendary super saiyan. there is 3 movies of that. the first is brolly the legenday super saiyan the second one is brolly returs and the 3rd one is bio brolly.
i also have the movie of bardock the father of Goku. the story is how freeza destroys goku’s father and his home planet. so if u want it then all u have to do is ask
September 27th, 2005 at 8:33 am
Ok,I understand your reasoning. But cartoon network did show an incomplete version of DBZ.How was that possible? And is there no other way for countries apart from France,USA and Japan to see the DBZ episodes on TV?
Damn it,we don’t have broadband yet although we are planning to get it in a year or so.I will ask you then.
No I haven’t seen any of DBZ movies.Where do you get those from? The broadband again?
Also do you have any “clear” idea about the differences between ‘Samurai X’ and ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ TV serieses.
September 30th, 2005 at 10:53 am
i also saw the incomplete series on cartoon network. it is from there i first knew about DBZ
i m not sure y they showed a incomplete 1 but i know that they dont have the ful 1 for that they r not showing it any more
and samurai X and rurouni Kenshin is the same thing. when the japanese language was dumped into english they changed the name into samurai X
all r same only the name is different
any1 heard of the cartoon Yu Gi oh.
that 1 is also a hit anime made by Konami. which is only available in usa and japan.
people who likes DBZ should visit there offical website http://www.dragonball.com
u can learn more about this hit anime and the movies of it
my total collection of dbz in my hard disk is about 4Gb. so just think how long it took. also its hard to find, so it took time to search for it
i have wrote it in CDs for backup
October 3rd, 2005 at 6:49 am
well, there are some reasons why I was asking about the the differences between RK and SX.
–CN in US shows it by the name RK.
–I saw 2 different versions of CCS(cardcapt.) ….1 each due to animax and CN.the voice-actings were different…even the names were different.Animax (I thot)showed some episodes that CN never did.
–I heard somewhere that there are 2 sets of voice actors for SamuraiX.
yes, I heard about Yu-gi-oh a lot.Nevr saw it .Did U?its probly anoth. hi-fi action cartoon. Not sure about yu-gi-oh but animax has already shown some hi-fi action animes like Yu_yu_hakusho,brain powered, samurai 7 etc. in other parts of asia. they also r showin hi-fi animes like GITS:SAC 2nd gig, initial D etc.I wonder when it will b our turn.
Since this is mainly on animax..a link
/
Also did u c ‘get backers’?it
wasincomplete wasn’t it ?Do u knoto see the next part….when they finally enter the main part ‘babylon tower’?
October 3rd, 2005 at 6:59 am
in fact in japan animax has shown a lot more.they have shown naruto,yu gi oh,samurai champloo etc and what not.

If you people like anime, just download it using bittorrent network.
I downloaded about 160 GB worth of anime
Rurouni kenshin OVA : reminiscence is one of the top rated OVA . It tells of Kenshi’s life before Rurouni Kenshin (or) Samurai X .
I also downloaded all 167 episodes and 4 movies of Inuyasha and also Naruto and Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex.
Currently downloading Samurai Champloo.
October 7th, 2005 at 11:00 am
Can u tell me more about bittorent network?
I really wana know.
I m sure it requires broadband. isnt it?
Tell me 1 more thing. How much power(level) is there in Naruto?Capable of destroying planets?
How much time does it take to download 1 episode?
160gb!!!
October 7th, 2005 at 6:35 pm
Well…Bittorrent is kinda like a file-sharing network and is used by all the anime community online to distribute anime(besides IRC,which is also used, but not for newbies).
No, bittorrent does not require broadband, that is, if you are willing to wait some time to finish your download.
Also, while downloading using the bittorrent network, you gotta upload what you download to other people too(dont be greedy).
A typical anime episode of 25 minutes is about 220 mb and should be downloaded in about 2.5 hrs with a 256 kbps connection.
For using bittorrent, first you gotta download a bittorrent client such as azureus(which is the best bittorrent client).
October 7th, 2005 at 6:51 pm
By the way, DBZ is for noobs.
The series was good until all noobs started watching it, resulting in a loss of popularity.
Thus,it is true when I say that the hate base for DBZ far outweighs the fan base.
October 8th, 2005 at 11:09 pm
where can i download a bittorrent client?
Is it (bittorrent) free?
While uploading from my computer will i loose any information?
How to know exactly where to find the thing I want to download?
Anyway,i was not talking about DBZ,i ws talking about Naruto. How is it?I like DBZ though, even considering i never completed it.
October 9th, 2005 at 8:14 am
@Ray
Try http://www.bittornado.com/
>Is it (bittorrent) free?
Yes.
> While uploading from my computer will i loose any information?
No.
> How to know exactly where to find the thing I want to download?
It will tell you that it is a torrent. You click on it and it starts downloading using your Bittorrent client. It is very simple really.
October 10th, 2005 at 11:53 am
Thanks.(Even more thanks for saying that its simple)
Well,I would like to know just 1 more thing. Is it only good for downloading anime or does it help downloading other stuff/subject…….I mean considering how slow my connection is it will not be a good idea atall to try to download even a single anime episode(220 mb!).So may be downloading mangas will be a better alternative for me.So is it possible to download mangas? What exactly r the things 1 can download—Only anime-related things or otherwise?
October 10th, 2005 at 7:09 pm
You can use it to download any type of files (provided it is available).
If you don’t have to pay per minute connection charges, then having a slower connection just means it will take longer.
At the beginning you should download couple of small files just to get a hang of the thing.
October 12th, 2005 at 12:53 am
Thanks.
I only wish my connection was faster.
October 16th, 2005 at 4:14 am
Wow I never thought there was an Indian Anime community.I couldn’t be happier as I am a harcore Anime and manga fan. Any of you guys searching for where to find episodes, anime songs, manga(japanese comics) can contact me at rurounikenshin_battusai@yahoo.com, cause i have dedicated my life (atleast kind off) to the spread of anime in India. Or you can just mail me for discussing the latest in the world of anime just nice to know people out there share the same interest and dont ridicule you by saying it’s kid’s stuff.
October 16th, 2005 at 6:09 am
Japanese anime is not kid’s stuff by default. Anime’s like Samurai X and Dragonball Z are better enjoyed by adults than by kids.
October 17th, 2005 at 6:33 am
True that Anime caters more to adults with various themes of sci-fi drama etc. But Anime being a new concept to India is mostly dismissed a kid’s stuff by many before even they get a chance to experience what Anime can truly deliver.
October 26th, 2005 at 10:42 pm

hi
i am a avery big fan of animax.
December 24th, 2005 at 6:30 am
i like all the cartoons aired in animax.please dont dub all the cartoons in hindi, atleast the mega zone.
December 30th, 2005 at 3:58 am
Now I have a very strange question here.
Is it that my mind is playing tricks or is it real?Did animax or anything else ever show ‘magic user’s club’in India?Well i can almost see some parts of the opening music in my mind.So I checked out in the net and there really is such an anime! But I cant remember any ads or anything else like that. And the only place where I could have seen that ‘opening’is on tv.
Also I have a comment to make .I dont like those hindi ads.Well that is tolerable but they r even giving hindi titles nowadays.I personallly like it to be in all english.
December 30th, 2005 at 9:55 am
@Ray
> Did animax or anything else ever show ‘magic user’s club’in India?
Animax showed it before. Animax repeats the serials over and over.
And yet they wouldn’t show high quality serials like Dragonball Z in India.
> I personallly like it to be in all english.
Same here
January 1st, 2006 at 8:28 am
I see,so they did show it.But I think they never repeated it.
well, thanks .I almost thought I was catching Alzheimers disease.
And yes, they should start DBZ.
January 1st, 2006 at 1:43 pm
Same to you and others. Happy New year.
January 3rd, 2006 at 6:32 am
OK, our connection is now much faster.
And I have downloaded a bittorrnt client.
What next?
How do I download and from where?
January 3rd, 2006 at 7:38 am
Search for torrent trackers in Google and then search there for your torrent. Then just click on it
January 4th, 2006 at 11:28 am
@angsuman
Thanks….i tried that and even become successful in downloading a full chapter of naruto in japanese from which i coulld figure out nothing.I see that the files are of sizes of order 500mb or even 5gb in some cases.what does that mean?
i also noted that the download speed increases with time.
i mean… the size those files are … my only hope lies if i can resume download later.i heard that bittorrent supports that feature. But how? Will i have to get back to the site from which i started downloading?
Any tips for faster downloading??
@anas
I can understand how u feel.the cable co. might have just changed the frequency there. The best option for u is perhaps just wait for some time.u may try better wires and tv receptors.if yor tv is too old then this may be the time to take new tv.dish tv doent support animax yet.so as i said …just wait..
January 4th, 2006 at 12:02 pm
> .I see that the files are of sizes of order 500mb or even 5gb in some cases
Pretty much they have uploaded their VCD / DVD and probably many of them.
However I would suggest you first try the smaller ones (say under 50 MB) to get a feel of the procedure.
> i also noted that the download speed increases with time.
That is normal and expected from any bittorrent client. As more and more people start downloading the speed increases.
> my only hope lies if i can resume download later
It does.
> Will i have to get back to the site from which i started downloading?
Just double-click on the torrent file again (which you have downloaded the first time). The software will realize that it needs to resume download.
BTW: I use BitTornado software for my torrents.
> Any tips for faster downloading??
Ask more of your friends to also simultaneously start downloading. If that sounds surprising realize that it is part of bittorrent architecture. More downloads speeds up individual download as clients downloads portions from each other.

hanks…for all the help.
Those were simple question really.I could have found most answers myself i think.Sorry for bothering you.Its just that I wanted to keep this blog going.
Well,I am also using the bittornado client which you gave link to.
By the way you host this blog isnt it?
Who provides those wise words from Einstein? Is it you?I really like some of them.
January 7th, 2006 at 3:42 am
I found Einstein’s quotes from internet, from some reliable source which I cannot recollect at the moment. I put them together in a single file and then used my AdRotator plugin to display them.

Is Animax going Hindi?I know its started in Hindi in sum places but it had been airing in English in most places and now they r starting two new anime series ‘Alien musibat’ and ‘Miss khatti meethi’.It would be sad if its true ‘coz Hindi dubs r as horrible as they can get!
Angsuman, could u plz start a forum for Anime. I’ve been on many but I find ppl much more obsessed with subs than dubs so its difficult to find more ppl with interests in dubs. It wud be really nice if u do:)Did any1 watch all three Movies on Animax on 31st Dec.They aired the third movie in Jap without subs!!
@Ray
BTW Animax did air a series called”Clamp Magic school”.
January 7th, 2006 at 9:56 am
Sorry forgot to mention ‘the three movies’ referred to ‘InuYasha movies’

@sabriel
Wow,all the way from South Africa!Great!
@Jamil395
Ya we all want that.
@erised317
About that last Inuyasha movie–
I didnt understand a thing about what happened.
If any1 knows what was the movie all about then please give the summary here.
Talking about movies ,i think my top favourites so far are—’Ghost in the shell’ and also ‘Spirit of Wonder’.
It looked to me that animax has shown a highly edited version of the movie “Ghost in the Shell”.I dont where they got that edited version but I think it was totally unnecessary.I am really REALLY dissapointed with animax for that.Because I thought animax shows everything uncut.I can only hope that animax does not do this in future.Any1 feel like I do?
And among the latest animax shows–I am really starting to like Kino’s Journey(:The Beautiful World)……its really fantastic ….as much as I have seen.
If any1 hasnt started it yet then just start it.Its amazing.
And is there any problem with this site because I was unable to open it entire yesterday?

Wow! That’s a lot of activity! It’s nice to see the Indian anime community is pretty vocal. The fans here in Bangladesh are sort of closet fans.
Anyway, here’s some stuff I’d like to say.
DBZ: When DBZ was dubbed, two different companies did it - Ocean and then FUNimation. The first 52 US aired episodes were dubbed by Ocean but distributed by FUNi. These constituted the Saiyan Saga (which FUNi is considering to rename as the ‘Vegeta Saga’), the Namek Saga and the Ginyu Saga, respectively. These were the only episodes bought by CNI (Cartoon Network India) and aired. In the USA, the continued from episode 53 - but that episode and all those superseding it (uptil Ep. 276) were dubbed by FUNi. A possible reason as to why the ordering disrepency. It’s possible that FUNi or CN USA wanted too much money for the rest. We’ll never know. I really loved DBZ (it’s my favourite anime), so I downloaded all the episodes except for the ones shown on CNI. The Saiyan Saga, Namek Saga, Ginyu Saga, Frieza Saga, Garlic Jr. Saga and Trunks Saga - I have those on original DVD. Anyway heres the listing of all the ‘DBZ Sagas’ if you want to dl them (it’s possible to dl by Saga on BitTorrent).
1.Saiyan Saga
2.Namek Saga
3.Ginyu Saga
4.Frieza Saga
5.Garlic Jr Saga
6.Trunks Saga
7.Android Saga
8.Imperfect Cell Saga
9.Perfect Cell Saga
10.Cell Games Saga
11.Great Saiyaman Saga
12.Babidi Saga
13.Majin Buu Saga
14.Fusion Saga
15.Kid Buu Saga
Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X: It’s one and the same. ‘Samurai X’ was the first US dub. Anime wasn’t so popular then so they changed the name to ‘Samurai X’ and many of the names were also changed. Kenshin became ‘Kenshi’, Kaoru became ‘Cory’ and Yahiko became ‘Yoshi’. Also the original translation for ’slasher’ was actually ‘manslayer’. They thought that was too violent so they made it ’slasher’. Of course, later some other company made a new English Dub and they kept the original name ‘Rurouni Kenshin’. All the character names were kept intact and the translation seemed to be more accurate. Also, the Voice Acting (VAing) seemed to be of SIGNIFICANTLY higher quality. This is also one of my faves and I have it as a boxed DVD set.
Ghost in the Shell (movie): There are obvious reasons as to why it was edited. The movie displayed a gratuitous amount of nudity and there were a few violent scenes. I was sure they’d edit it. Anyhow, how did they edit it? (I missed it) Did they use pixelation or did they cut scenes outright? If they used the later then it’s bad since it’s such a twisted, cyberpunk story many signficant details would be lost.
Miss Khatti Meethi: WTF? I need to watch more of it to be sure, but I think this is a blatant rip-off of one of the most highly rated anime of recent times: Great Teacher Onizuka. I saw todays episode where there’s a guy named ‘Ijikawa’ and he tries to commit suicide, but gets saved by Miss Whatsherface. Hmmm, now in GTO there’s a videogame geek (and it’s not me :P) called ‘Yoshikawa’ who also tries to commit suicide, but gets saved by his homeroom teacher, Eikichi Onizuka, 22 years old. Anyhow, maybe it’s just a coincidence and I’m overreacting, but if I get to the bottom of this mystery (with or without Scooby Doo) I’ll let you guys know.
That’s it for now.
Wait, there’s a wee bit more. If you guys are up for some good anime downloads:
1) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG - The 2nd season of GITS SAC. Section 9 is back and is now after a radical, individualist group called the ‘Particularist Eleven’. They also shed a lot of backstory on Section 9 members and also explain some part of the history of the world. Thrilling stuff and it’s better than SAC methinks.
2) Bleach - Kurosaki Ichigo, 15, is a normal teenager with the not-so normal ability to see spirits. Since his own spirit energy is very high, spirit demons called Hollows are attracted to it and attack him. He is saved by a Deathgod named Kuchiki Rukia who herself is critically wounded. Rukia entrusts her powers to Ichigo who suddenly bursts with untapped energy and is apparently far more powerful than Rukia. Thus begins their adventures. Bleach is bloody good stuff: the story, the music and art are brilliant and the fight scenes are really cool. The best part is how it just KEEPS GETTING BETTER with each episode.
Yikes, lookit the time! I’ll be back with more stuff!

@Prince)V(ajinVejita
Is animax available in Bangladesh?
I have no idea.
DBZ:Your explanation for why DBZ was taken off CN India sounds reasonable.Thats probably the reason.
By the way are all those sagas from DBZ alone or are some of those taken from DBGT?
SamuraiX:I dont know about you but I absoulutely enjoyed SamuraiX.The Voice Acting for SamuraiX is definitely amongst the very best from Animax(so far).Samurai X is wonderful.
Miss Khatti Meethi and Alien Musibat:I heard that the original name for the former1 is something like “Gokusen” and for the latter1 is something like “Lamu the invader girl”.The creator of AM is the same as that of Inuyasha—Rumiko Takashi(She has created many other series like Ranma1/2 which is coming soon on Animax.
GITS|Movie:Animax seems to be particularly shy about showing this movie.Where it shows the other ones at least 1ce every 2 months, this 1 has been is shown only twice in all.
I dont know exactly how the movie was edited but it was edited to at least some extent for sure.It even seems that some of the scenes were replaced by some other scens. And some of the scenes were cut short atleast if not cut totally.Animax never pixelates anything and it didnt do that in this case either. The funny part is that inspite of all that animax has shown almost evrypart of major.Animax has already shown many serieses with a lot of nudity and I did not expect Animax to cut things.Animes are often like that.Honestly, I am dissapointed.
I dont know about you people but I am not in favour of editing movies. The whole story of GITS is like that.In fact,in the manga you will find even more nudity. Most animes, including GITS are made for young adults and there should be a proper distinction between anime for children and for late teens and even much olders.I think animax tries to make that distinction with zones like ‘megazones’ and ‘fun-fun times’ but it isnt completely successful yet.
GITS|SAC 2nd gig:I have a feeling that this will be coming soon on animax .Say within the next 3-4 months.Usually, you can find out by keeping track of the Animax-Asia site. The new-coming animes there will be shown in about 6-months time in Animax-SouthAsia.I enjoyed the 1st gig a lot…specially the laughing man.
Bleach:So you are telling its good?
@erised317
Clamp Magic School:Not another 1 that I cant remember properly! My memory..is it really fading?I wonder…why doesnt animax repeat CMS and MUC.
Inuyasha-movie:Its OK.I got the summary.I thinnk I will enjoy it better the next time.Inuyasha is entertaining but it was never really in my top-favourite list.
Kino’s Journey:Its really great.
New Shows:I will be watching out.Hope here are some good ones.
This Blog:Dont worry .I will keep replying for now.At least 1ce a week,if not daily,or evn…
All I need is some support from others. The number of replies is increasing exponetially. The last 4-months has seen about 60 posts.Thats nod bad.

I am broadly categorizing under Animax categories, future, recommended (with sections like DBZ), other channels (with sections like Hungama, cartoon network). Then we will watch and modify according to user needs.
February 9th, 2006 at 4:11 am
@angsuman
Thanks! it’d be gr8 if there are sections focussing on Animax anime series’.Hey if u r including cartoon network why not include disney too,is it fine?. Also we could have anime review section where we could talk about the various anime we’ve seen.
Then.. we could also have a section on whats latest going ons on Animax which could be updated time and again. So wot say?
@Ray
CMS is still on air on animax.Check the timings on their website:)
February 9th, 2006 at 4:45 am

February 9th, 2006 at 5:39 am
All,
Thanks for your suggestions. Please keep them coming.
Please check out the budding Animax forum (work in progress) and provide your feedback.
@erised317
We have added categories and forums corresponding to Animax as a start. Yes, we are adding Disney too as a forum based on your suggestion.
Hungama, Disney etc. will get their separate categories later if we get sufficient interest. For now they will have a forum each.
We will add a Anime Reviews forum where you can review your favorite animes. And there is a section for Animax news where all of us can submit news on Animax.
We have added few of the animes in Future category based on your suggestion.
Thanks,
Angsuman
February 9th, 2006 at 5:43 am
Thanks erised317. Congratulations and welcome.
All,
For now we have posted stock description of the animes in sections. Later we will update them with more interesting and informative descriptions.
February 9th, 2006 at 7:19 am
I just visited your forum. Its great!
Although the arrangement is a little messed up.
For example i didnt find any topic on Samurai X,Getbackers,Inuyasha,Cyborg009 etc.
Also,a lot of the anime-names there was from anmax-asia etc. They never appeared in anomax-sa(india).They should be in future section.
And I am guessing :
Indian otaku=erised317
angsuman=angsuman
anmaxforumadmin=?

I will add the topics on Samurai X etc.
Good point on anime-names. I would look into it to see how we can address this issue so as to keep Indian as well as Asian users happy
animaxforumadmin = angsuman / mandira for now.
@micky
The animax forum is at http://animaxforum.taragana.net/
It is still being modified and enhanced but it is usable at this point.
You can use the forum to communicate with each other. My email address is angsuman[at]taragana[dot]com
All,
Looking forward to your feedback on the forum.
February 11th, 2006 at 3:54 am
@ ray
yes Indian_otaku= erised317 thats me:) Erised is related to harry potter and I wanted something related to Anime so there goes..
@Angsuman
just a small sugestion:
The description u gave below the respective anime makes the page look all messed up and congested. why dont u set a first thread in these topics where u can post the description instead, that would look better and the first page wont look too filled up.
February 12th, 2006 at 7:02 am
Thanks erised317/indian_otaku for the suggestions. We are in the process of implementing most of them.
February 12th, 2006 at 11:49 am
One thing:
Why can’t I EDIT my posts? Or is it only for specific portions? I need to edit my reviews by adding some footnotes hehe ^_^
February 13th, 2006 at 7:04 am
@angsuman
Nothing special, just wanna say thankyou for the forum:)
February 13th, 2006 at 7:24 am
Even i dont seem to be able to edit my post:( Also the smileys are inactive.
February 13th, 2006 at 7:34 am
I will look into it.
February 13th, 2006 at 8:12 am
Hey InuYasha’s missing too.Add that too plz:)
February 13th, 2006 at 8:23 am
oh well instead of posting them one by one I guess I’d rather prepare a list and post it here so it’d be easier for u to add it.
February 13th, 2006 at 8:28 am
Yesterday we made some code modifications which may have caused this. The developer is out tomorrow. We can back out the changes by wednesday (will try sooner). Please bear with me till then
We will fix it.
February 13th, 2006 at 11:59 am
You should be able to edit your posts now.
