Tata Indicom Broadband Experience versus BSNL Dataone Broadband
So far so good. Despite all the negative perceptions about Tata Indicom, I found the connection more stable than BSNL Dataone. So much so that I have today upgraded to their 1 Mbps unlimited plan. I have also kept my BSNL Dataone 900+ Unlimited broadband plan. The BSNL Dataone plan will simply serve as a backup in case Tata Indicom goes down for any reason. I will not even join the two connection but I will configure it so we can easily (manually) switch to BSNL backup in case the primary broadband fails. The funny thing about BSNL is that downgrading the plan wouldn't benefit me much financially. More on it later as I need to catch some sleep.

i would like to know… if ur getting steady speed of 1mbps… and also what is the upload speed? is it satisfactory? seems tata indicom to be the only 1 provider giving a great unlimited 1mbps connection at resonable 3600rs for desperate power users of internet…!!! but it seems all isps are more happy to make people sick in their lives with all these night happy hours…with which u have 2 stay awake at 2am for bsnl to get the free download! i would rather go for a always on unlimited connection like tata…than mess up my life with this other trap plans…!

Is the Tata Indicom Broadband experience still a happy one (seeing that it’s now a month since your last post)?
The reason I ask is that my BSNL connection is also creating major problems (after a year of pretty much faultless operation, apart from initial teething problems). Since customer service is more than a foreign language to BSNL, it looks like I’m going to have to get another ISP. Have so far looked at Tata Indicom and Airtel (websites only, no one’s met me so far), and it seems on paper their options aren’t as good as BSNL’s U/L 900 plan.
So — is it worth going in for Tata Indicom, given the horror stories one reads about them on the web?
