March 22nd, 2005 A year back I posted a case study on how to deal with a spammer about Richard Milford, a stupid spammer and scam artist. The case was quoted by Plaxo as I dealt with them to get him (Richard Milford the stupid spammer) removed from their system.

July 24th, 2006 You can easily and effectively use your .htaccess file to easily and effectively block comment and referrer spammers targeting your blog(s). If you are using WordPress you can also use my Referrer Bouncer plugin, which is much simpler, to block referrer spammers.

September 9th, 2007 Spammer of the day - Florida based Interactive Marketing Group repeatedly spammed us 86 times abusing our Contact Form touting their ImgSite[dot]net service from the IP address 85.255.121.130. They are our spammer of the day.

February 1st, 2005 Yesterday I found some (around 20) irrelevant medical ads in my spam-trap :) Today I got a comment: "This site has --expletive deleted-- nasty hidden script (which prevents me from spamming)" - wrote some exasperated kiddie-comment-spammer in his comments. You bet! It appears that the spammers have resorted to trackback spamming to get around captcha.

February 6th, 2004 After some deliberation, and seeing others, I decided to leave the commenting section on my blog un-moderated. Today I was mildly surprised to find almost all my posts had a comment to it.

August 26th, 2007 I have opened this blog for testing. Now any spammer can get to my moderation queue.

March 23rd, 2005 How stupid can a human be?http://savetoby.com/ owner proposes that he will eat his pet bunny if you do not donate 50, 000 USD to his account. A sick mindset perhaps but definitely not stupid.

May 17th, 2006 Blue Security came with an innovative solution to target spammers - by spamming them with opt-out requests. It worked surprisingly well and spammer's were naturally not happy.

July 12th, 2005 I just read a post titled - Java Applets = Stupid Design. The actual contention was - My example would have been web pages that are written entirely as Java applets.

July 27th, 2005 My Referrer Bouncer plugin for WordPress Publishing Platform has been rather popular plugin with WordPress bloggers. It simply bounces referrer spammers back to their own domain, effectively forcing them to spam their own servers.

March 2nd, 2009 I got this interesting spam in my comments today: Please, do not delete the given message. Money obtained from spam will go to the help hungry to children ugandf What do I do? I figured someone who can stoop so low as to spam is not likely to donate his ill-gotten wealth.

May 27th, 2007 WordPress has the nasty habit, thanks to numerous filters, of converting two consecutive - to different ascii characters. This causes big problem for code fragments where people often tend to cut and paste the displayed code from browsers.

October 21st, 2005 I use and test my web applications and blogs primarily on Firefox these days. I do however occassionally look at Internet Explorer.

May 27th, 2007 Cartoon Network, stupidly as before, plans to stop DragonBall Z before Goku goes Super-Saiyan! As a commenter (Karthik) on my blog pointed out DragonBall Z isn't on display on June 30th (Saturday). In short this is plain stupid and ridiculous.
