June 19th, 2006 I use Google Sitemap generator WordPress plugin in this blog which creates a compressed (gzip) version of the sitemap data. Suddenly the plugin has stopped working! On investigation I found that the gzencode routine (in php) is failing for unknown reason.

June 27th, 2008 Arne Brachold's popular XML Sitemap generator plugin for WordPress may report fewer URL than that exists on your website. This in turn means less URL's which you are submitting to search engines for indexing.

August 21st, 2006 A Chinese blogger finds Google.com inaccessible around 60% of the time whereas Google.cn is perfectly accessible. Is it coincidence or intetnional? Is Google intentionally blocking Google.com in China and providing intermittent access instead of outright banning to prevent backlash from internet community & activists.
