Site Statistics

July 31st, 2007 I have started monitoring my site for uptime statistics at 5 minute interval. Uptime is defined as when the response time for http://blog.taragana.com is 30 seconds or less.

November 17th, 2005 I hear rants and raves about Google Analytics all of which are based on their cool demo graphics. However nobody yet mentioned whether they were able to see their own statistics.

September 5th, 2007 I noticed something funny with this site's statistics. On average people are spending 4 minute 8 seconds on the site.

April 19th, 2005 I started tracking website visitors from 20th March, 2005 using BAStats Plugin. As of 19th April 2005 total hits on my site is: Site Statistics Total Sessions: 57473 Total Page Hits: 105947 There wasn't any SlashDot effect.

June 9th, 2008 Gadging.com is a new (free) service which allows you to share your Google Analytics statistics with the world of just for your tools or application, get it as RSS feed for displaying on your blog, compare how your site ranks with others and more. And it takes less than a minute to configure.

June 3rd, 2008 How effective is a site re-design? The final proof is in site traffic. When we started re-designing Taragana.com we had many apprehensions.

October 23rd, 2005 I love North America, as a continent, because they comprise 64% of the readership for this blog. Asia is second at 22% with Europe following at 7%.

November 30th, 2007 In MySpace on average (based on sample size of 2071208 images) 15 photos are uploaded per user. Considering only users who have at least one or more photos uploaded, they have on average uploaded a staggering 32 photos.

June 13th, 2007 Angsuman's Translator Plugin Pro & Gold collects and display useful statistics on the functionality of the plugin as well as the intelligent caching engine. The statistics is available from Translator Plugin Pro Options panel in Basic tab and in Advanced -> Cache Management tab.

July 10th, 2007 I am making some more changes to the site. Bear with my uglification / beautification (you decide) efforts.

September 17th, 2008 Simple Thoughts Traffic I am sure you have heard about long tail theory on web traffic. Just how important is it? The pie-chart on your left shows the long tail traffic on Simple Thoughts blog.

April 4th, 2008 Google Analytics finally provided the long asked for feature. While daily graphs are useful, summarized weekly and monthly graphs are much better in displaying trends.

June 10th, 2007 We received over 1 million visitors as early as Feburary 2007 and with over 12 million page hits. We have been observing steady growth throughout the year so far.

November 16th, 2005 This blog displays statistics on the right-sidebar (bottom) like - There are currently #### posts and #### comments in this weblog. The data is obviously dynamic.
