Simple Thoughts Blog Selected in Top 100 Blogs by Feedster

December 1st, 2005 This blog - (Simple Thoughts on Java and Web Software) has been selected again in Feedster Top 500 list. This time we made significant improvement over last time and ranked 33.

April 19th, 2006 I have just posted my 1000th article on this weblog. Over the years I have tried hard to keep this blog informative and timely.

July 12th, 2007 Simple Thoughts blog is ranked 6th worldwide by BlogPulse. BlogPulse is a service of Nielsen BuzzMetrics.

December 2nd, 2005 Krutik asked me about tips on blogging. So I thought of compiling a small simple list for people new to blogging.

October 8th, 2008 Simple Thoughts now has a working Subscribe-by-email facility. Unlike many other blogs which provide this facility, we do not use FeedBurner.

December 2nd, 2005 Recently I had to interact with both of these companies to resolve non-trivial customer support issues. In both cases I was pleasantly surprised by the promptness and eagerness of their support.

October 23rd, 2007 Simple Thoughts was chosen as the name of this blog in distant past to highlight my approach - simple solutions for complex problems. The name stuck over the years.

January 18th, 2007 I finally took the plunge and upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.0.7, the latest sparkling version of WordPress (till 2.1 comes out later this month). I am happy to say that the upgrade was uneventful for once and things looked fine after sanity checks.

October 30th, 2008 Simple Thoughts has 2,460 posts and 10,012 comments as of writing this post, an average of over 4 comments per post. Simple Thoughts was never intended to be a commercial venture like TechCrunch or Mashable, for instance.

September 16th, 2008 For several years Simple Thoughts has been authored solely by me. This ensured that we maintained the quality I am proud of.

March 19th, 2009 We are changing the blog incrementally. We made the home page less cluttered now.

July 2nd, 2005 We have forked of our coverage of Stem Cell Research news and views in our recently launched The Stem Cell Blog. You will find it much more active than it was under the folds of multi-faceted Simple Thoughts Blog.

February 23rd, 2008 Simple Thoughts blog now boasts a new and improved search facility, thanks to Google customized search. Now you can get the search results on our site with our look and feel, without having to go to Google.

February 22nd, 2009 We just updated Simple Thoughts blog to the latest version of WordPress software. So far everything looks good.

October 5th, 2007 I wrote an article on a Google interview question in June, 2006 describing the problem and offering a simple solution. What makes this article interesting is that several people came up with better ideas and very thought provoking comments.
