April 15th, 2009 WASHINGTON - With major companies in the Silicon Valley suffering the biggest slump since the dot-com bust, some firms are eyeing India and China to recover from the effects of a global economic meltdown. The total market capitalisation of the leading technology hub's 150 biggest public companies plunged 32 percent to about $850 billion for the last 12 months ending March 31, the worst decline since 2002, according to an annual survey by the San Jose Mercury News.

December 8th, 2005 InfoWorld published results of a survey which found Google search users were more net savvy and more likely (statistically significant) to have household income above 60, 000 USD, in comparison with competing search engines like Yahoo, MSN etc.. Unfortunately some of us tend to misinterpret results of such survey and infer erroneous causal relationships like - A way to get rich would be to use Google Search or MSN Search users are dumb (wouldn't you love to make that inference?).

MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger tops with 204m subscribers, Yahoo! Messenger is second at 78m, AIM boasts of 34m users and ICQ claims 33.9m users.

September 12th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Shiv Nadar-promoted HCL Infosystems has emerged as the best employer in the Indian information technology industry, followed by iGate, Rolta, RMSI and SAS Institute, says a survey by Dataquest magazine and International Data Corp. HCL rose two positions from last year, while iGate slipped one notch to number two, according to the "Best Employers Survey 2009" that covered 200 IT companies in India, out of which 31 were short-listed for the final round.
