Scientists Race to Map the totality of Human Protein-Protein InteractionsAugust 3rd, 2005 Two years ago the Human Genome Project published its final draft – a protein parts list, if you will, for human cells. Noticeably missing, though, were the instructions needed to put those pieces together.
Human Study of Potential Cure for Huntington's Disease Using Pig's Brain Cell ImplantsAugust 13th, 2005 Pig brain cells could be implanted into human brains in USA by the beginning of next year if trials of a pioneering treatment for Huntington's disease are approved by FDA. Similar tests on primates have proved "astonishingly successful" in treating the degenerative brain disease, according to researchers who carried out the work at Living Cell Technologies (LCT) in Auckland, New Zealand.
AIIMS / Indian Government Ideal For DCA Human Trial For Cancer TreatmentFebruary 5th, 2007 India is the ideal place to conduct human trial for the effectiveness of DCA ( dichloroacetate ) as anti-cancer drug. The government regulations for human trial aren't as stringest as USA, there are funds available for such studies and frankly you don't need much.
Key to Holy Grail of Stem Cell Research Found by Korean ScientistsAugust 24th, 2005 A Korean husband-and-wife scientist team has made headway in adult stem cell research by discovering a gene in charge of differentiating the parent cells in human bodies. “Up until now, researchers have dug up many factors involved in the differentiation of adult stem cells.
Unprecedented rate of damage to earth by humans which is raising risks of abrupt collapses in nature: International Report based on study by 1,360 experts in 95 nationsApril 3rd, 2005 The study, by 1,360 experts in 95 nations, said a rising human population had polluted or over-exploited two thirds of the ecological systems on which life depends, ranging from clean air to fresh water, in the past 50 years. Cheap Non-Patented Drug Kills Most CancersFebruary 3rd, 2007 Investigators at the University of Alberta have recently reported that the drug DCA is able to cause tumor regression in a number of human cancers growing in animals. The drug, dichloroacetate (DCA), is being used for years to treat rare metabolic disorders and is known to be relatively safe.

The Lies Of Embryonic Stem Cell Research Objections or One Woman With Two Souls Ridicules Religious ZealotsAugust 18th, 2006 Don’t you just love it when evidence emerges challenging unprovable religious preconceptions espoused by the Pope, the Roman Catholic Church, hardline Islamists, not to mention beloved President George Bush and his own fundamentalist Christian supporters. What they all believe is that at the instant when an embryo is formed by fertilisation of a human egg by a human sperm, a “soul” gets installed in the entity to make it a true human being.
Congratulations: You Have Nearly As Many Genes As Trick ParasiteJanuary 13th, 2007 A simple one-celled parasite called Trichomonas Vaginalis, also known as "trick", which causes an itchy and smelly genital infection especially dangerous to women, has nearly as many genes as a human being, researchers reported on Thursday. They mapped the genome of Trichomonas vaginalis, which causes the most common non-viral sexually transmitted infection, and hope they have found a few chinks in its armor.
Stupidity on the rise: UN approves human cloning banMarch 12th, 2005 It is of much regret that the ban on human cloning has been passed in the UN, however symbolic it may be. My heartfelt support goes to the following countries for their opposition to the ban.
Stem Cell Hypocrisy of Bush GovernmentMay 27th, 2005 LATimes has a scathing editorial on the Stem Cell hypocrisy practiced by Bush and his government. Photographs in Wednesday's papers of President Bush with cuddly little babies, all of whom were produced from surplus fertilized eggs at fertility clinics, represent a White House attempt to deal with the biggest flaw in logic regarding its stem cell policy — and its moral weak point.

Check out the web slide show at http://WWW.PANEARTH.ORG which explains the actual root cause of human population growth. An awareness of the underpinnings of human population dynamics would lead to the possibility of more thoughtful solutions. As for the 90% elimination idea, I hope it was a satire. And, if anyone cared to do the math, this would simply delay the problem, and only for a thousand years or so. If we don’t understand the basis of human population dynamics, we’ll only repeat the problem.
