September 19th, 2007 Digg is down. It comes up with an amusing message directing you to several sites like TechCrunch, PaidContent, BBC News & others.

June 26th, 2006 Digg, the popular technology news site, appears to crumble under its own popularity. For quite sometime I am unable to access digg site.

November 14th, 2008 Digg was down. And that is about it.

May 3rd, 2006 The security vulnerabilities addressed are: Security Bypass, Cross Site Scripting, Exposure of system information, Exposure of sensitive information and Denial of Service. Ubuntu has issued an update for thunderbird.

July 31st, 2006 WordPress 2.0.4 is available for download. This release contains several important security fixes, so it’s recommended upgrade for all users.

December 31st, 2005 Users reported experiencing odd browser behavior after installing the most recent security update which has been identified as being caused by a registry key. Problem: Some reported opening a browser window that promptly hangs IE, others have reported opening links that render blank.

August 10th, 2006 I have never seen them so concerned about computer vulnerability from Microsoft Windows software. Everyone knows Windows OS is vulnerable by default.

February 27th, 2006 Google has newly introduced Google Pages which allows you to create your webpages with AJAX interface (Web 2.0?). It is quite a slick product, provides 100MB of space, file uploading etc.

August 7th, 2008 WordPress wins the dubious distinction of Mass 0wnage Pwnie Award for an unbelievable number of WordPress vulnerabilities, over 140 as of today. It seems like hardly a week goes by without a new vulnerability in WordPress or one of its many plugins.

September 3rd, 2007 Social Bookmarking is back on Simple Thoughts blog. I have added Alex King's Share This plugin along with a modified version of Digg It plugin.

March 10th, 2006 WordPress released yet another security release 2.0.2 fixing (yet again) unannounced XSS security bugs. I have not upgraded any of my blogs to 2.x release.

August 11th, 2006 Rails has taken the right route and went for full disclosure unlike for example the WordPress team, who still believes in the flawed concept of security by obscurity. After a full assessment of the security vulnerability (details below) Rails team decided they needed yet another emergency patch to fully close the hole.
