New Blog Site Design

August 22nd, 2005 I suddenly decided to change this site. It wasn't planned nor very well thought out.

July 10th, 2007 I am making some more changes to the site. Bear with my uglification / beautification (you decide) efforts.

April 28th, 2006 I have promised to myself (and CSS reboot guys) that we will update all our blog sites in Taragana Network (like Stem Cell Research Blog, Diabetes Blog, Eye Blog, Law Blog etc., except Simple Thoughts) with a new look and CSS based design. I am hopeful that it will kick some serious a&&.

December 27th, 2005 WordPress administrators & authors who use Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser are presented with an attractive image and link to BrowseHappy site in an apparent bid to lure them away to alternative browsers. Firefox, Mozilla, Safari & Opera are the presented alternatives.

March 26th, 2005 I use WordPress to maintain this site. After upgrading to version 1.5 I was left with a theme which doesn't do much of what I want to do with my site.

February 7th, 2007 I had few reports of inability to access my blog with its url http://blog.taragana.com/ because the ISP's DNS service isn't resolving properly. I have checked, double-checked and triple-checked my DNS and everythings looks fine.

March 22nd, 2004 As you all know blogs are a good place to dump the links to your casino/gambling site or other scams. Unfortunately I actively resist any attempt to spam this blog.

July 31st, 2007 I have started monitoring my site for uptime statistics at 5 minute interval. Uptime is defined as when the response time for http://blog.taragana.com is 30 seconds or less.

May 28th, 2008 We are incrementally adding changes to our site, replacing portions of our old theme with a new one. Upgrading a theme is harder than it looks.

February 6th, 2008 I accidentally discovered a super-cool re-direction feature embedded in WordPress 2.3.x. Any blog may have multiple url pointing to the same blog.

March 7th, 2006 The site statistics shows a healthy upwards trend, despite lack of significant attention last month. I am really looking forward to breaking the 1 Million mark, first per month and then per day.

July 13th, 2009 Have you decided to use your blog as a corporate tool to promote your business? The theme of your corporate blog is what you need to decide first. Your blog is the facet of your business that lays the first impression on your potential customers visiting it.

January 3rd, 2006 On the persistent insistence of my niece I finally decided to put up my picture on the blog. However I didn't go the full mile.

September 24th, 2007 I have significantly improved our site performance in the last month. I did all the site optimization steps by the book, found a lot of new things and fine-tuned existing ideas.

January 24th, 2007 Some of my customers have complained that they were unable to access my site. They complained that the site was accessible by IP address (72.36.134.131) but not by domain name - http://blog.taragana.com/.
