Dear Mr.Nandan,
Congratluations on being appointed as head of the Unique ID project. It feels good for the country to see a person having great expertise in providing reliable solutions and planning strategic alliances will now be leading this challenging position.
Based on my experience from the fingerprint biometric pilots conducted in India, I request you to consider two most important things for this project, lack of these critical things have caused failure for most pilots:
1. The fingerprint biometric must be able to demonstrate real world performance (capturing good quality data under dirt, water and dry conditions, obvious indian conditions)
2.The system should support ISO and ANSI image and template standards for interoperability
All the aspects like maintaining database,
de-duplication, unique identification will not be useful without good quality fingerprint image/biometric.
I will be grateful to have an opportunity to meet you.
God luck and Best Wishes,
Sujan

Dear Nandan
I accept every one needs to be recognized and there are multiple systems exist in the country. Does that mean we have to start another scheme? Can’t we use Voter’s list and remove all problems in that system.
Voters Card is issued nationwide.
The only missing item is biometrics.
Iam also receiving news that the new scheme will give only numbers and not card. Then how does one verify this biometrics?
All other cleansing can happen on this database.
I guess this may save a lot for us.
Thanks
Rajan

I well come the Idea of of Nandan, in raising some funds through this for issuing this card to citizens. Apart form this, I would appreciate if scope this in big way ( use infrastrure investment, servers etc) and more centralized to cater for any future expansion and integration of services of individual citizens, let us follow more sophictated technology, plotforms and products to pilot it.
