I am serious. ���� �ɰ��մϴ�. While MySQL is a great open source database, I have full respect to Sun's plan to provide high-end features for paying customers only. mysql�� ������ ���� �ҽ� �����ͺ��̽����ϴ� ����, ������ �¾��� ��ȹ�� ���� ���� - ���� ����� �����մϴ� ���� �? ���. After all they are in the business of making money and not philanthropy, last I checked. �ᱹ ���� �ڼ� ����� ���� â���� �ƴ�, ������ Ȯ���մϴ�.
Why is the blogosphere and MySQL community up in arms against the move? ��α� mysql ������ �����Դϱ� �ݴ��ϴ� ���� ��ȸ�� ���� ������? I think it is extremely selfish to try to force Sun to abort its plan of providing high-end features for paid customers only. �� �� �װ��� �����̱����� ��ȹ�� �ߴ� �õ��� ������ �¾��� ���� ���� �? ��� ���� - ���� ����� �����մϴ�. Any paid customer of MySQL would welcome the move and, as expected freeloaders will disagree. mysql�� ȯ���ϴ� ��� ���� �?�� �̵��ϰ�, ����� �������� ������ �������մϴ�. But who cares? ������ �װ� ���� �����? After all most of the freeloaders don't contribute a dime. �ᱹ ��κ��� ��� ����� ��Ǭ���մϴ�.
The best thing Sun can do is offer high end features free to significant source code contributors to MySQL codebase or community. �ְ��� ���� �¾� ���� ���� ����� ���� �� ���ִ� ���� �߿��� �ҽ� �ڵ带 ����� mysql �ڵ� �Ǵ� ���� ��ȸ �����ϰ��ֽ��ϴ�.

I��m generally ambivalent. ���� �Ϲ������� ��ȣ�մϴ�. I support free software/open source (money and code). �� ��������� ���� ����Ʈ���� / ���� �ҽ� (���� �ڵ�). I��ll be interested to see what the features are, and whether similar features are prevented from being committed to the base? �� ����� Ȯ���ϴ� ����� ������ ����� �ִ��� ���ο� Ŀ�Ե��� �ʵ��� ������ �⺻?

We��re a paid customer. �츮�� ���� �?�մϴ�. In general, the feeling I get from other people who depend commercially on open projects is that we would rather (and do) make donations and contributions public because the shared infrastructure makes us more efficient. �Ϲ������� ������ ���� ������ ���� �� ���� ������� ������Ʈ�� ��� �ٸ� ����� �츮�� ������ (��������)�� ��ȸ ���� ��� ��� ������ ��Ʈ��ó�� �츮�� �ֱ� ���������� ȿ������ �����մϴ�.
But, we��re not Sun or Microsoft. ����, �츮�� �¾��̳� microsoft�մϴ�. We��re small software companies. �츮�� �ұԸ� ����Ʈ���� ȸ��. So, reducing the barriers to entry in our markets, reducing the market inefficiencies, is in our best interest. ���� �츮�� �� �溮�� ���̱� ����, ��ȿ���� ���� ���Ҵ� �츮���� �������ֽ��ϴ�.
But, I��m with you on the melodrama. ������, ���� ��Ű� ��θ��մϴ�. What��s that all about? �̰� �� ���� ���̿���?
