PayDotCom has recently introduced an widget which you can use to promote PayDotCom products on your website. The widget is definitely eye-catching so I thought I would give it a try. I tried it for a week on this blog and here are the results.
Zip, zero, nada, zilch - the widget didn't generate any revenue at all in a week. I am kind of surprised because some of the products were pretty relevant to the audience and I expected quite a few sales. There are however few things which bothers me about the PayDotCom widget:

  1. They do not allow you to select your own products
  2. They do not allow me to place my own products in the list
  3. At the least they should allow you to exclude certain products from their auto-generated list
  4. The content isn't context sensitive
  5. The products aren't my top recommended. I have no way to change / adjust the message to be more accurate.

I have decided to remove PayDotCom widget from my blog.
