Looking for Unmanaged Dedicated Web Hosting Providers

July 5th, 2006 I have been looking for a unmanaged dedicated web hosting provider for the last 7 days or so. I performed sucks tests (search in Google for "xyz sucks"), went to web hosting forums, asked questions to the provider, analyzed their plans with a fine tooth comb.

July 13th, 2007 Any growing business has to eventually move to high end web hosting solutions like Colocation, Dedicated Web Hosting, Managed Hosting or Fully Outsourced solution. Let's look at the advantages and disadvantages of each solution.

May 29th, 2008 I am a long time LayeredTech dedicated server customer. Today out of the blue LayeredTech increased the price by 26%! None of the "service improvements" directly benefits average customers like us: Implementation of a new enterprise-wide management system to integrate all client touch points and improve response times.

June 30th, 2006 I am working to transition my server to dedicated web hosting. My Westhost VPS account is crumbling under traffic and no amount of optimization is being able to handle anymore the heavy traffic I am getting.

July 16th, 2007 Some of you have come to me saying WordPress recommends BlueHost and so why it isn't working well for them, their implicit expectation being that because WordPress recommends BlueHost, it must be the best for WordPress. That is far from truth.

August 12th, 2007 One of the main challenges of managing multiple dedicated web / database servers is the ability to centrally monitor and manage them, automate tasks which requires out-of-band access like rebooting the server or find out if the server is dying and arrange for replacement ahead of time etc. Unless you are a very big web service provider, chances are you are using dedicated servers from one or more of dedicated web hosting providers.

July 10th, 2006 I faced a hair-tearing problem. mod_rewrite was loaded and yet it was not working in .htaccess files (and httpd.conf initially).

July 7th, 2006 Dreamhost, why suckst thou thusly? My configs error free, all see. My width of band a mere mirage.

March 11th, 2006 I am looking for dedicated web hosting solution. Can you please provide me with some recommendations within manageable cost? I am slowly but surely outgrowing my WestHost VPS.

August 28th, 2007 This is a news to me! I am using LayeredTech dedicated server for over a year and just today while browsing their new encompass console I found they have three nice buttons labelled Reboot, Power On & Power Off. Obviously I tried and it worked.

August 28th, 2006 I faced serious hacking attempts from a server owned by my dedicated web hosting provider, LayeredTech. More than 23, 000 brute force attempts were made on ssh server alone.

August 20th, 2007 My old IP addresses are presumably having some issues according to my dedicated web hosting provider LayeredTech. So on their suggestion we will change our IP addresses this weekend.
