I just downloaded JDK1.6 aka JDK 6 (code name: Mustang). Now is a good time as any to get your feet wet with the latest version of Java platform and development kit.

You can find the binaries and documentation here.

JDK 1.6 comes with an impressive list of features and enhancements. One of my personal favorite is the ability to accept password from console.
