Interaction of Translator Pro / Gold Intelligent Caching Engine With Other Caching Engines

June 18th, 2007 by Angsuman Chakraborty

In short there is none. Translator Pro / Gold uses an intelligent caching engine to cache the translated pages. However it can happily co-exist with other caching engine like wp-cache 2 or WordPress’ object cache. While such engines will not help Translator plugin in any way as it is optimally cached by design, they may help serving the original (untranslated) blog pages.

In our blogs we use wp-cache 2 to speed up serving normal pages. However I have to say that wp cache 2 uses pretty dumb caching strategy which is ineffective for highly commented or posted site. We have plans to provide an improved version of wp-cache 2.
BTW: I have a solution for using wp-cache 2 on highly commented sites.

Additionally you can use php code accelerators like eAccelerator to speedup performance of your WordPress blog. We use them too. As usual it has no implications on Translator Plugin. It will happily co-exist with whatever caching / speedup strategy you adopt for your blog in general.

Note: Previously Translator Pro used WordPress’ object caching engine but not any more. Translator Pro has absolutely no relation or dependency on object caching engine.

"...one of the strongest motives that lead men to art and science is escape from everyday life with its painful crudity and hopeless dreariness, from the fetters of one's own ever-shifting desires. A finely tempered nature longs to escape from the personal life into the world of objective perception and thought." - Albert Einstein
