gmail-image-insertWe are constantly reminded of the beta stage of Gmail with each development. If you ever had a doubt that why there isn't an inline image uploading feature in Gmail yet, here is how they got it right after 5 years of being in beta. Gmail has come up with a lab feature named Inserting Images that lets you have a button squeezed between the emoticon and link icons. Clicking on which you can insert images online at Gmail message body.

To enable this feature, navigate to

Labs ->Settings of your g-mail account and enable the Inserting Images feature.

Note: You must enable rich text formatting mode.

Now, you will observe that the image icon will appear on the text-toolbar. You are now ready to embed pictures on the body of your e-mail either by selecting a picture from your computer or choosing one from the web.

I wonder why did it took Gmail 5 years to come out with this idea.
