May 6th, 2009 WASHINGTON - Undergraduate students at Virginia Tech's Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory have made a robotic hand that can gently grasp a raw egg as successfully as the machine holds a heavy can of food. They say that the machine called Robotic Air-Powered Hand with Elastic Ligaments (RAPHaEL) is flexible enough for sign language.

April 1st, 2009 robo.in, a venture of Thinklabs, founded by a group of IIT Bombay alumnus, in the field of educational robotics, today announced the launch of RoboCAMP, a summer camp which aims to offer a wholesome robotic learning system which will help kids learn science and technology in more practical and fun manner. The camp will start from April 13 at three venues namely at Cunningham Road, Indira Nagar and Jayanagar.

January 15th, 2009 WASHINGTON - As police investigated the murder of a software engineer from Hyderabad in the US, the Indian consulate in Houston sent an official to Little Rock, Arkansas to help arrange the transfer of the body to India. The body of Akshay Vishal, an employee of fraud-hit Satyam Computer Services Limited who was on contract with US company Jet Falcon, has been sent for autopsy.

September 18th, 2009 WASHINGTON - Experts from the University of Washington and SRI International have jointly developed a new software protocol, to standardize the way biomedical robots are managed over the Internet. Nine research teams from universities and research institutes around the world recently made a successful demonstration of biomedical robots operated from different locations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia with the help of the 'Interoperable Telesurgical Protocol'.

July 30th, 2009 WASHINGTON - Two engineers have proposed an alternative set of laws to Isaac Asimov's famous "Three Laws of Responsible Robotics", in order to rewrite mankind's future with robots.
