How To Control USB Missile Launcher on Linux
If you are into office warfare then surely you must have heard about USB missile launcher's. I found that now you can control your Marks and Spencer USB Missile Launcher on Linux and potentially other platforms that support python and libusb.
Requirements:
1. python (>=2.3)
2. libusb (>=0.1.8)
3. pyusb (==0.3.1) python module with patch
4. urwid python module

Scott also developed automated sentry mode which uses webcam and motion to have automated aim and fire capability.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone comes up more dangerous payloads. Fascinating technology.

Um, I’m reading these directions and having some trouble. According to your note you need libusb (>=0.1.8) though it seems the latest version of libusb is 0.1.12 from (http://libusb.sourceforge.net/download.html#stable)
Thoughts?

Josh: My thoughts are that 0.1.12 is > 0.1.8 so happy missile fun. I’m looking forward to having this set up in the office.

I must admit that it is a bit more clumsy in the interface, since I couldn’t get any direct connection to the missile launcher. However, it does do a great job against my evil sneaky neighbor, who coincidentally also is my landlord.
Any thought on how to do a more sleek design for windows are appreciated.
