I faced quite some problems, to say the least, in configuring Pidgin / Gaim to connect to OpenFire XMPP Server on Fedora Core 6. انني واجهت بعض المشاكل تماما ، على أقل تقدير ، في تشكيل رطانه / gaim لتوصيل الخدمة الى openfire xmpp على فيدورا 6 الاساسية. Here are the detailed steps for a no-brainer configuration of Gaim for OpenFire: وهنا الخطوات التفصيليه لعدم تشكيل brainer من gaim لopenfire :
1. Click on Account->Add/Edit menu انقر على حساب -> إضافة / تحرير القائمة
2. Click on Add button in the Accounts screen انقر على زر الاضافه في الحسابات الشاشه
3. Select XMPP / Jabber as your protocol اختر xmpp / الثرثار البروتوكول الخاص بك
4. Type your desired screen name نوع الشاشه التي تريدها انت الاسم
5. Type Domain as the hostname of the OpenFire server. نوع النطاق المضيف للopenfire الخادم. For example I use jaguar.taragana.com where the server is currently located فعلى سبيل المثال انا استخدم فيها jaguar.taragana.com الخادم الموجود حاليا
6. Ignore Resource تجاهل الموارد
7. Type in your Password and check Remember password اكتب كلمة السر الخاصة بك وتأكد من تذكر كلمة المرور
8. Click on Advanced tab انقر على علامة التبويب خيارات متقدمة
9. Check Force old(port 5223) SSL التحقق من القوة القديمة) بورت 5223) SSL
10. Check Allow plaintext auth over unencrypted streams (may not be required) التحقق من الرسالة الغير مشفره تسمح المصادقه على مدى تيارات غير مشفر (لا يجوز ان يطلب)
11. Change Connect port to 5223 تغيير ربط ميناء ل5223
12. Type the host name of your OpenFire server in Connect server field. نوع المضيف openfire اسم الخادم الخاص بك في ربط الخادم الميدان. I used jaguar.taragana.com كنت jaguar.taragana.com
13. Click Save and you are done. انقر فوق حفظ وانت القيام به.

Note: Use the Gaim from Fedora extras. ملاحظه : استخدام gaim فيدورا من إضافات. Do not install pidgin directly from other repositories. لا رطانه تثبيت مباشرة من مستودعات اخرى.

Note: The Spark IM client from the same company works like a charm. ملاحظه : الشراره ايم العملاء من نفس الشركة تعمل مثل السحر. However it is an one-connection wonder. ومع ذلك فهي واحدة الصدد نتساءل.
