Solving pppoe: Timeout waiting for PADO packetsJune 6th, 2007 Our DSL link, provided by BSNL (aka World's crappiest broadband service), was down yesterday causing enormous hardship. Tata Indicom Broadband Experience versus BSNL Dataone BroadbandAugust 16th, 2007 So far so good. Despite all the negative perceptions about Tata Indicom, I found the connection more stable than BSNL Dataone.
Comparison of Software RAID on Windows versus LinuxFebruary 18th, 2007 The basic idea of RAID (Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks) is to combine multiple small, independent disk drives into an array of disk drives which yields performance and recoverability exceeding that of a Single Large Expensive Drive (SLED). Redundancy is also provided (unless RAID 0) which allows easy and often automatic recovery from hard disk crash.
Cheapest Broadband in Kolkata / CalcuttaOctober 22nd, 2007 While comparing broadband packages from Tata Indicom and BSNL Dataone, I came across the revised pricing of another provider with whom I have a love-hate relationship. My last experience with them was ok.

Use a Hub to connect the two devices. Then either directly connect your BSNL connection to the Hub and connect using the BSNL modems router or use a proxy on your connecting PC. I use Analog X. Do google to find more.

First of all hats of to such a forum.. Its a treasure of information out here..I wish i have my problem solved out by you guys out here.
I have 2 pcs and a data one connection and am using Huawei SmartAX841 modem, since i have 2 pcs i want to connect both of them for file and h/w sharing. And have 2 NIC cards installed on each of them.
However, I am unable to connect both of them through the MT841 modem which BSNL claims to be a router as well. I would be glad to have a step by step procedure.
Plz note ## i have already tried setting up home network using the network wizard but doesn’t let me share files.. Help would be appreciated. And Thanks in advance.

Use the instructions above to configure your modem as a router. Then connect the modem to a hub or switch and connect all your computers to that hub / switch.
If your modem model no is different then use the corresponding instructions from VSNL.

Hi
I have brought a UT-300R2 modem last week. The BSNL people configured it and gave it to me.So once i switched it it gets connected immediately and i can use the net.But from yesterday what happened i dont know it is not connecting by itself after switching on.So i went into the settings and checked it.In the WAN settings it showed authentication failure and the Default gateway is blank. So i went to advanced settings and checked my bsnluseir and password were there,to my surprise they were there.
But i edited them again and saved the settings and reebooted the modem. But to my surprise it went of no use.it did not connected.i repeated the above procedure for several times.but it was no use.So i created a dial up connection and tried to connected.it immediately connected.
So i want a suggestion on the situation. Can u tell me if there is any problem in mysettings and how to configure it and is there any problem with my modem & do i need to change my modem
Thanks & regards
R.Viswamjaya
February 12th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Your BSNL userid and password needs to be in the modem to allow you to connect. Your modem uses them to connect. Add them to your router again and then try.
I don’t think there is a problem with your modem.

Hi,
In my office we are using BSNL wifi modem. But out side the office, some people are using our net for which the billing amount is very high. So can you tell how to secure the wifi system using BSNL modem?
December 27th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
@Sangram
Use a WPA security at the earliest.. Not using a secured WiFi, not only increases the bill, but can also be used for terrorist activities..!
Go to the modem, (typically http://192.168.1.1 ) > put your login (check from your BSNL connection) > then go to Wireless setup, and select WPA/WPA2 security.
Try searching the exact steps that may depend router upon model to model.
