Google Inc, the world's largest search engine on the Internet can not proclaim now that they are not disturbed by this recession which seems like a blackhole gulping every alternate employee down. The reason being the news that Google is going to lay off 10,000 people from their outsourcing department. Brin, co founder of Google said that Google has begun to examine the figure of 10,000 contract workers and establish a set of streamlining plans since six months ago.

Google has recently reduced recruiting any new employees. The total number of Google employees as of the end of September was said to reach 20,123.

Not only that, but in order to earn revenues from only the working sources and channelize them to more effectiveness, Google discontinued its Lively-3D Avatars and Rooms, a virtual world, and its SearchMash, an experimental search engine, due to unsatisfactory performance.

searchmash

has gone the way of the dinosaur

So with such a significant volume of employees being sacked and almost all the new services being put to RIP, do we see Google not only shaken but severely hit by this economic recession?
