Google All Set To Launch Flipper

April 5th, 2008 TechCrunch got it from a source that Google plans to launch their BigTable, their proprietary internal database which is used for Google Search, as a web service to compete with Amazon SimpleDB Web Service. Bigtable is a distributed storage system for managing structured data that is designed to scale to a very large size: petabytes of data across thousands of commodity servers at Google.

March 2nd, 2006 In a rather sad story a Googler (Google employee) narrates his misery with paltry salary and poor chance of a raise. Apparently in Google you can get a raise (merely 5-8%) with only a promotion.

February 2nd, 2009 WASHINGTON - NASA and Google announced Monday the release of a new Mars mode in Google Earth that brings to everyone's desktop a high-resolution, three-dimensional view of the red planet. Besides providing a rich, immersive three dimensional view of Mars that will aid public understanding of Mars science, the new mode, Google Mars 3D, also gives researchers a platform for sharing data similar to what Google Earth provides for Earth scientists.
