Today we will discuss three productivity tips which has helped me most in Firefox last year.

Location bar for "I'm Lucky" Google Search
In the location bar (where you type in the URL) if you type in a word or phrase and hit [Enter] - the browser does a "I'm Lucky" Google search which effectively does the search and takes you to the first matching page.
Often sites have domains not exactly matching your expectations i.e. www.[Site Name].com.
For example sourceforge and boingboing sites are located on .net domains. This allows you to simply type in boingboing and you will be taken to the most popular location.

This is a big time saver.

SessionSaver Extension
I work with several tabs open. At the end of the day it becomes painful and time consuming to save the URL somewhere. Also if I mistakenly close the browser (or forced to due to Flash ads slowing it down) then I don't lose any of my tabs. SessionSaver persists all your tabs and their positions across browser sessions.

Previously I complained that it slows down the browser. I don't see that anymore. It is the best Firefox extension that you can get.

Middle-click Browsing & Tab-Rearranging
Using your middle-click on a link opens it in a new tab. This allows you to keep your existing page and browse the new page in a new tab.

Another small capability added in Firefox 1.5 (previously it was available via extensions) is the ability to rearrange tabs by drag-n-drop.
