Ha, I actually gave it a try but it seemed to only work on accounts in my friends list though…I’m guessing the ids I checked don’t have albums but I’m out of people to try it on (I limited my attempts to people I know won’t have a problem with me doing this). Thanks for the tip!

Looks like they omitted the server side check for the album viewing persmission. But as it reportedly fails, they probably updated their code.
Instead of hiding the links to private albums, they now actually check if your aloowed to view them before rendering the webpage.

It’s an old code that no longer works for non-FB friends. As Rash1981 pointed out, FB probably does a background check now whether you are on the list of permission to view or not.

Wow, simply superb hack. Facebook is not providing a way to import our friend’s contacts as csv as many other social networks allow. This way only we need to get information by using the loopholes in their code. Because no code is 100% secure.

Maybe the reason that it is not working is that the Unque ID is actually ours. Because I am seeing it in my url all the time even when I go to another person.

There is a way that you can view private facebook profiles as of jan. 2009 with the Facebook Private Profile Viewer. These guys are genius they have found a way to crack the html code and show you the profile you want to see

Why are there stupid people commenting without reading other comments? Of course it will not work. This has probably been published earlier before FB made adjustments. It would have worked before. Read other comments first, they are more recent than the article.
