Dell in India doesn’t offer the range of customizations that you would normally come to expect from them. Dell في الهند لا يوفر مجموعة من تخصيصات منك وعليك ان تأتي عادة ان نتوقع منها. Moreover calling Dell may have some unintended consequences like possibly a call from Microsoft. وعلاوة على دعوة Dell قد يكون لها بعض العواقب غير المقصوده مثل ربما دعوة من مايكروسوفت. Here are some issues that you would like to be aware of: وهنا بعض المسائل التي أردت ان تكون على علم :

1. The widely displayed configurations doesn’t allow you to remove the Operating System (Vista from Microsoft) or the bundled Microsoft Works Software. عرض التكوينات على نطاق واسع لا تسمح لك لازالة نظام التشغيل (فيستا من شركة مايكروسوفت) أو المجمعه وتعمل البرمجيات مايكروسوفت. They do however have a hard-to-find link to a special version where you can remove them. ولكن ما قد يصعب العثور على وصلة الى اصدار خاص حيث يمكنك ازالتها.

2. I wasn’t able to remove the optical device (and thus avoid the Octoroi). لكنني لم أتمكن من إزالة جهاز البصري (وبالتالي تجنب octoroi). I didn’t need them as we get all out software simply with yum install software_name . لم أكن في حاجة اليها فيما نصل الى جميع البرامج ببساطة مع تثبيت yum software_name.

3. I couldn’t reduce the hard-disk to 80Gb which is available with some configurations and competing vendors. انا لا يمكن الحد من القرص الصلب الى 80gb وهو متاح مع بعض التشكيلات المتنافسه والبائعين. We don’t need bigger hard-disks because all our data is centrally served from NFS. نحن لسنا في حاجة أكبر للاقراص صلبة لأن جميع البيانات مركزيا خدم من نظام ملف الشبكه.

4. I couldn’t also remove McAfee Security Center which is useless for a Linux machine. انا ايضا لا يمكن ازالة mcafee مركز الامن الذي لا طائل منه لينكس الآلة.

Overall I was disheartened with the minimal customizations I could make. عموما أنا بالاحباط مع الحد الادنى من تخصيصات انني يمكن ان تقدم. I had better experience calling up Lenovo in Kolkata. كنت افضل تجربة استدعاء Lenovo في كلكتا.

These observations were made for product with E-VALUE CODE : R220301. وقدمت هذه الملاحظات لالمنتجات الالكترونيه مع القيمه المدونه : r220301. This is one of the many standard products which you can find out by clicking on Desktops -> Small Business / Commercial and then selecting customise (Dell adopted british spellings for India). وهذه واحدة من العديد من المنتجات القياسيه التي يمكنك ان تعرف من خلال النقر على سطح المكتب --> الاعمال التجارية الصغيرة / والتجاري ومواصفات ثم اختيار (Dell هجاء المعتمد البريطاني للهند).

Note: There is a rather convoluted way to ملاحظه : ثمة وسيلة لبل convoluted remove Microsoft Windows Vista or other Microsoft software from Dell machines ازالة مايكروسوفت ويندوز فيستا مايكروسوفت او غيرها من البرمجيات وآلات Dell .

Did I mention that soon after I received a call from هل لي أن أذكر أنه بعد فترة وجيزة تلقيت اتصالا من Microsoft inquiring about Windows usage in my company مايكروسوفت ويندوز الاستفسار عن استخدام الشركة في بلادي and that I should look into installing Windows for new machines. وانني ينبغي ان ينظر في ويندوز لتركيب آلات جديدة.

On a different note Dell’s website isn’t searchable with E-value code which is widely advertised everywhere. على صعيد آخر نلاحظ Dell 'sموقع الانترنت ليست للبحث مع ه - قانون القيمه المعلن عنها على نطاق واسع وهو في كل مكان. They expect two inputs for e-value code while the code is something like R220301. انهم يتوقعون ان اثنين من المدخلات لله - قانون القيمه المدونه في الوقت ذاته هو ما يشبه r220301. I tried different combinations without success. حاولت مجموعات مختلفة من دون نجاح. The customer service representative couldn’t help me either. ممثل خدمة العملاء لا يمكن أن تساعدني سواء. I am pretty confident that their e-value code search is inoperable. انني جميل واثقين من ان قيمة التجارة الالكترونيه هو قانون غير قابلة للبحث.
