August 9th, 2006 The University of California is joining Google's book-scanning project, throwing the weight of another 100 academic libraries behind an ambitious venture that's under legal attack for alleged copyright infringement. The deal covers all the libraries in UC's 10-campus system, marking the biggest expansion of Google's effort to convert millions of library books into digital form since a group of authors and publishers sued last fall to derail a project launched 20 months ago.

November 22nd, 2007 Text-Link-Ads upped the ante in their fight against Google (in their effort to help people buy page rank) with the following "tips" for bloggers: Our advertisers don’t like ad blocks that are titled “Sponsored Links” “Advertisements” “TLA” “Text Link Ads” etc. They prefer no heading but if you do use a heading please consider using an image not text and consider using something like “Recommended Sites”.

November 22nd, 2005 I reported previously that Google is about to unveil a new program that lets publishers of AdSense partner Web sites sign up advertisers on their own. It is already operational and it has opted you in (if you are AdSense publisher) by default.

November 18th, 2005 Google is launching a new feature Friday that lets publishers of AdSense partner Web sites sign up advertisers on their own. Under the new Onsite Advertiser Sign-up, marketers can create site-targeted ads and submit cost-per-impression bids on the targeted site.
