CDC Software sees 3Q profit above expectations

ATLANTA — Business software developer CDC Software Corp. said Friday it expects its earnings to surpass Wall Street's expectations in the third quarter.

The company forecast earnings of $5.8 million to $6.4 million for the third quarter. Excluding items, CDC expects earnings of 33 cents per share for the three months ended Sept. 30.

Analysts, on average, forecast a profit of 27 cents per share, according to a poll by Thomson Reuters.

CDC is based in Hong Kong but has U.S. offices in Atlanta. Its shares rose 30 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $9.40 in morning trading. The company went public earlier this year.
