Bangalore & India Java Leaders of the World? Should JavaOne Shift to India?
March 10th, 2008 by Angsuman Chakraborty
It was well known that there is a significant amount of Java development in Bangalore these days. However it took me by surprise to find that it may actually be a world leader in terms of amount of Java and India too as a country. What was even more surprising is that USA doesn’t figure in top 10.
According to Google search volume data provided by Google trends*, India is the leading country with astronomical interest in Java and Java related technologies while Mexico lags far behind in second position. USA as a country doesn’t figure in top 10.
Bangalore takes the lead, followed closely by Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi, all Indian cities. San Francisco is the only US city in top 10, ranked 9th.
I used the following search phrase: java | jsp | servlet | j2ee -javascipt
This excludes Javascript interest from the results but includes popular Java technologies.
Note: The overall results were same with just Java.
Isn’t it time Java One is shifted to India, maybe Bangalore?
