The company provided the updated specification for white MacBook on Wednesday that is expected to provide the customers better value for their money. The update of the entry level notebook is the second this year to the Cupertino-based company, following the update on January 21st that added the NVIDIA's 9400M graphics architecture. This could be a reply to Microsoft's PC hunter ads that seems to hit Apple's Mackbook for its price directly. Let's get through updates in more details.

What pleases is that the 13 inch unibody MacBook's processor speed has been increased. The machine will be powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, however, the speed has been upgraded from 2GHz to 2.13GHz. The hard drive storage space has also been increased from 120 GB to 160 GB. The memory also received a boost from the previous 2 GB of 667MHz DDR 2 to 2 GB DDR 880MHz. Further adding an extra $100 can bump up the memory to 4 GB DDR 2.

Overall, what matters is that the MacBook is listed at $999.

Apple has kept the MacBook graphics card intact that was Nvidia GeForce 9400M.

This bring the MacBook with new specifications and price affordable for the middle class. This is closer to the aluminum unibody MacBook. The aluminum version of the notebook offers a hard drive that can be upgraded to solid state as well as the option for DDR 3 memory.
