KOLKATA - A 38-year-old American woman, Kathleen Mary O' Brien, was found dead at her facebook friends flat in Kolkata on Sunday.

Kathleen had come to the city to meet her friend Rohan Prakash Yellore-a DJ, whom she had befriended on facebook.

The police found Kathleen's body in the bathroom of her friend's residence yesterday.

She had reportedly arrived in the city a few days back and initially stayed in a guesthouse. She shifted to Rohan's residence two days later.

It is believed that Kathleen had run out of money, so she shifted to Rohan's place.

Supratim Sarkar, Deputy Commissioner (South) of the city police told mediapersons here that Kathleen had arrived in Kolkata from Tokyo on October 7 to meet Prakash Yellore.

However on Sunday, at 7:45 a.m. the maid found her body on the bathroom floor.

Police have not found any marks or injuries on her body but are waiting for the post-mortem report to determine the cause of the death.

Jawed Shamim, Joint Commissioner (headquarters) of Kolkatta Police said that since there were no injury marks on the body, it is believed that she may have died of a cardiac arrest, but they were waiting for the post mortem reports before they rule out any foul play. (ANI)
