Abusing Comment Name field for SEO.. No Sir
Sometimes I see comments where the name of the person is not really his name but a popular keyword which obviously links to his website. While I understand the need to have link-love for useful comments and even encourage it, the name field shouldn't be abused by using keywords like "Web Banner Design", for example. They are for the name of the person and should be used as such only.
My blogs are 100% protected from automatic comment spam (normal comment spam, referrer spam, pingback spam, trackback spam and even direct human spam). However it doesn't stop even a single regular comment (0% false positive). So I don't get the usual fare of such comments as mentioned above. However when I do get even a relevant comment with spammy name, I dutifully remove the url from the comment and also the email address, while approving the comment itself for two reasons:
1. Removing the email ensures that future comments from the same poster doesn't get automatically approved.
2. Removing the url is to encourage him not to use such spammy names in future.
My message to such viewers is: Please use the real name in your comments. Feel free to add a relevant link to your website in the comment body itself, if you so desire.

Hi!
We don’t use the name field except for our real names. We’d like to thank you for the plugin that’s make our blog, http://www.reapmoneyonline.com, more comment friendly.
We’ve read blog posts about the usefulness of a no follow. John Chow is even supposedly making a little money removing the no follow from paying commenters. We’re more inclined to follow your generosity.

Our forum was abused by spammers. It’s really annoying.
