Bank of America Loses Tapes of Records of 1.2 Million With Visa Cards

Bank of America said yesterday that it had lost computer backup tapes containing personal information about 1.2 million federal employees, including some senators, with Visa charge cards issued by the bank.

The tapes were lost in shipment. I am not so sure how the spokeswoman for Bank of America, Alexandra Trower, feels so confident that the information was not stolen. There may not be any fraud instances yet as they say but that is no guarantee. I had better hopes from Bank Of America. Why aren't they acccepting the consequence and changing all the accounts?

Google ventures into movie search!

Microsoft always claimed that it loves competition, looks like finally it got one. I wonder when Microsoft will go for purchasing Google…

To find reviews and showtimes for movies playing near you, type "movies", "showtimes" or the name of a current film into the Google search box. If you've already saved your location by using Google Local, the top search result will display showtimes for nearby theaters for the movie you've chosen.

AIIMS pioneers stem cell injection for reviving heart muscles

It can now be announced that AIIMS has marked a global first in pioneering stem cell medicine by the "injection method", placing the institute right at the top of the world's medicine map.

This is very exciting news for diabetics and heart transplant patients.

As part of a path breaking study. conducted from February 2003 to January 2005, 35 cardiac patients have been given stem cell treatment and have been monitored at 6, 12 and 18 month intervals.

Work for 2$ an hour as an independent contractor in a foreign country?

I saw this strange Blog entry from someone mentioning an US company which is *not hiring* US citizens. The post sounded like it was keeping a list of such companies! Anyway that sounded bad.
