Kia Shine had alleged that famous rapper Drake had stolen the song “Best I Ever Had”. After a long spell of silence Drake came out to clear his name public saying that he had not stolen the song from Kia Shine.
Drake, who is a Canadian national, wrote in his blog, “I have never met Kia Shine or worked with him. I wrote the entire composition in Toronto and I borrowed one line from a Lil Wayne song that he produced the beat for. The claims of 25 [percent] ownership are false and for [an] artist to brag about splits on a song is distasteful to begin with.”
Kia Shine, who claimed that it was his song that Drake had copied, had asked for a “25 percent ownership” right to the song. But Drake has refused to it. It may appear that Kia Shine ghostwrote “Best I Ever had”, which has topped the US R&B and rap charts, but nothing is known for sure yet.
It is been reported that in an answer to Drake’s snubbing off the allegation, Kia Shine said, “First of all, no one is bragging about it. Once I got the BMI award and it happened and it started to get out. I’m just giving the information about what happened…it’s been quiet. I’ve known about this since January.”
Currently, keeping all these issues aside Drake is concentrating on his first full length album, “Thank Me Later”, which is scheduled for release in early 2010. The young Canadian rapper dreams of joining hands with big stars like Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne for his upcoming debut.

Lil Mama Appears On Stage At The VMA, Without Invitation

The series of bewildering events at the MTV Video Music Awards this year doesn’t seem to end. As if, Lady Gaga’s outrageous outfit and Kanye West’s sudden appearance on stage in midst of Taylor Swift’s award acceptance speech, announcing that Beyonce deserved the award more, was not enough, Lil Mama appeared on stage unannounced and uninvited!
It was during Jay Z and Alicia Keys “Empire State of Mind” performance that Lil Mama stepped up on to the stage from her place in the audience, unannounced. Though Jay Z was surprised, he didn’t let it affect his performance. He continued rapping, something he is best at.
During Mama’s little stint Hov urged her from the audience to get back to her place. Hov even jokingly called out “You T-Paining right now.” Hov actually said this in context of T-Pain who during Jay-Z’s “Death of Auto Tune” performance in the Summer Jam had gone up on stage, similarly, unannounced. Though Pain claims that he was asked to join Jay-Z on stage by the Jiggaman, Jay had dismissed the claims in his interviews, saying he was never aware that Pain was supposed to join him.
On stage Mama never bothered about Jay or Alicia’s dislike of her gesture. Rather when the performance ended she came up with a b-girl pose in the front row along with Jay and Alicia.
Neither Jay nor Mama was available to comment on this unexpected turn of events. Why she went up on stage is still not clear. People are still guessing. May be it was at the heat of the moment, but whatever it was, it has made Lil Mama a hot topic on the internet and on Twitter as well.
