October 3rd, 2009 MUMBAI - Filmmaker Karan Johar's latest flick "Wake Up Sid", which was embroiled in a first-day-first-show controversy Friday, was running peacefully in 42 cinema halls in Mumbai and another 150 elsewhere in Maharashtra Saturday. The film had faced protests from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Friday for having used 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai'.

October 2nd, 2009 MUMBAI - Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Friday said that termed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar's apology to MNS chief Raj Thackeray as a 'filmi stunt'. Karan apologized to firebrand MNS chief on using the word 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai' in his new film 'Wake Up Sid' was nothing but Chavan further said that Maharashtra Government was capable of providing security to filmmakers, and emphasized that Johar should have approached state police if he had any problem.

July 31st, 2009 MUMBAI - Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi said on Friday that he id being denied accommodation in the Nibbana Cooperative Housing Society in Pali Hill because he is a Muslim. Hashmi, who was looking forward to buying a new flat, told reporters that he has filed a complaint against the housing society with the Maharashtra Minority Commission.
