Krueger founded the San Diego, California-based annual comic book festival with Dorf in 1970.

A longtime friend, Greg Koudoulian, says the Ocean Beach resident died at a San Diego hospital on Tuesday from kidney failure.

The charitable services and grant-making organization said Tuesday that a portion of the six-year commitment will be used to launch several community initiatives.

October 8th, 2009 Award-winning theatre founder GILBERTO ZALDIVAR has died at the age of 75. Zaldivar, co-founder of New York City’s premiere Spanish-language theater company, Repertorio Español, died on Tuesday (06Oct09) from complications of Lewy body disease, a form of dementia.

October 7th, 2009 Electronic pop pioneers KRAFTWERK are set to return to the studio over Christmas (09) to record their first album without co-founder FLORIAN SCHNEIDER, who quit last year (08). The new project will be the Robots hitmakers first studio album since 2003's Tour De France Soundtracks.

August 7th, 2009 Founder of punk's Mink DeVille dies at 58NEW YORK — Willy DeVille, who founded the punk group Mink DeVille and was known for his blend of R&B, blues, Dixieland and traditional French Cajun ballads, has died, his publicist said Friday. He was 58. The Oscar-nominated songwriter died at New York's Cabrini Hospital on Thursday of pancreatic cancer, said Carol Kaye at Kayos Productions.

July 24th, 2009 Psychedelic songwriter John Dawson dies at 64SAN FRANCISCO — John "Marmaduke" Dawson, a longtime Grateful Dead collaborator who co-wrote "Friend of the Devil" and developed a devoted following with his psychedelic country group New Riders of the Purple Sage, has died. He was 64. Dawson died Tuesday from stomach cancer in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where he had retired several years ago, said Rob Bleetstein, archivist for the band.
