Sarandon Lands Lifetime Achievement Award

November 17th, 2009 LONDON - Brit actress Dame Helen Mirren is to be awarded a lifetime achievement honour for her contribution to the film industry. Mirren, 64, will be presented with the trophy at the 19th annual Women in Film and Television Awards in London next month, reports the Daily Express.

They say Sarandon will receive the festival's lifetime achievement award for her "reflection, seduction and rebellion" through which she has portrayed many "multifaceted female characters." Sarandon's most famous roles include rebellious waitress Louise in 1991 "Thelma and Louise" and Sister Helen in 1995 "Dead Man Walking," for which she won an Oscar.
