October 5th, 2009 LONDON - American singer/actress Barbra Streisand has revealed that she sprained both her thumbs while giving actor Robert De Niro a massage, during the filming of a scene for 'Meet The Fockers'. Streisand, 67, who played the part of a free-spirited sex therapist in the 2004 comedy, sprained her thumbs when De Niro asked her to forcefully knead his torso.

October 4th, 2009 Late screenwriter LARRY GELBART accused DUSTIN HOFFMAN of refusing to give him credit for writing TOOTSIE. Gelbart died last month (Sep09) after a battle with cancer but in an interview conducted a year before his passing, he blamed the actor for declaring it was his pal Murray Schisgal who conceived of the 1982 comedy, about an entertainer who dresses as a woman to find work.

The veteran entertainer has spent the last five and a half years refurbishing and building her home, a colonial farmhouse, and documenting the renovation process for a new book.

September 11th, 2009 Comedy writer LARRY GELBART, who co-created M*A*S*H and co-wrote Dustin Hoffman movie Tootsie, has died, aged 81. Gelbart got his big break writing jokes for comedians Sid Caesar and Danny Thomas and became a staff member on The Red Buttons Show in the early 1950s.

August 9th, 2009 Oscar-winning songwriter JOSEPH BROOKS has responded to new accusations of sexual abuse as he faces charges of raping 11 women - insisting he "doesn't remember" abusing hired protitutes and hard drugs. The 71 year old was arrested in New York in June (09) and pleaded not guilty to charges of sex offences against women who answered online adverts for acting roles.
