JANET JACKSON is working on her first book - she will document her lifelong weight battle in TRUE YOU.

The R&B superstar’s figure has fluctuated drastically throughout the years - and she piled on 60 pounds (27.2 kilograms) earlier this year (Jan09).

She has now regained control of her weight and will open up about her battle with the bulge when she puts pen to paper for her debut as an author.

In a candid new U.S. TV interview, Jackson admits she had difficulty maintaining her figure at a young age, and her older sister La Toya always knew she would face an uphill struggle to fight the fat.

Speaking to ABC newswoman Robin Roberts, Janet says, “My sister said, ‘Janet, I knew you were gonna have weight issues, you wanna know why?’ There were times when I was teased when I was younger and it affected me a great deal. Every child’s different; some, it might roll right off their back; some are different.”

Jackson understands why she struggles to control her diet - because she seeks comfort in food whenever times get tough: “There are people that, regardless of what it is, if it’s something that’s stressful - a divorce - (they) get real thin… I’m the opposite!”

But the All For You hitmaker has learned to not to despise what she sees in the mirror - and it’s all thanks to her ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.

She explains, “Now I know there’s nothing wrong with it (having curves) thanks to Jermaine. Just loving me the way that I was, when we were together, making me feel very comfortable with myself, allowing me to see that I’m fine the way that I am, that there’s nothing wrong with me.”

And she’s even developed a love for certain parts of her body.

Jackson adds, “The small of my back (is a favourite). I, not that long ago, learned to like my smile. I always thought I looked like the Joker (from Batman) ’cause it’s so big. Cheek to cheek, so broad. But I like my smile.”
